RE: Stickied thread for minor database issues?

Post by CHM »

Hello,

The F-22A RCS changes depending on the database entry (version DB3000 v486):

1) Entry numbers (#): 333, 1085, 2013, 4858, 3821, 4875

Image

2) Entry numbers (#): 2201, 4972

Image

In a separate point, entry #1085 (F-22A Raptor -- United States (Air Force), 2008, Blk 35, AN/APG-77(V)1) possesses only the older, less capable version AN/APG-77 - not the (V)1 claimed by the database entry name.

Hi! How about adding carrier-capable RF-4 Phantom, like from USMC VMFP-3 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VMFP-3, into current DB? Cause there is no such RF-4's in game at all. [&o]

UPDATE
Summary: Add composite rack loadout to J-20
detail: When carrying A2A missile externally, use twin rack instead of directly attach missile to pylon will increase missile amount from 8(PL-15)/10(PL-12) to 12/14.
Evidence: MY PERSUMPTION. Feel free to talk about or ignore this post. but the current loadout available to J-20 is pretty much out of presumption anyways, if I get it correctly.

<detail>Japan Cleared To Transform 98 Of Its F-15J Eagles Into "Japanese Super Interceptors"
The new configuration includes a new radar, mission computer, electronic warfare suite, and will also ensure the F-15J flies for Japan for years to come.

Japan was looking to potentially transform some of its Eagles into cruise missile carriers, exploiting the jet's inherent range and payload capabilities to turn them into valuable stand-off strike assets.

The proposed weapon of choice for this mission will reportedly be Lockheed Martin's AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). </detail>

<summary> LINK 16 JTIDS/MIDS has been used by many USN and NATO warships and submarines since 1995-2000 or so. </summary>
<detail> Its hard to get dates for what platform received it when but one of the first uses (outside of Command and Control platforms) was with the F-14D in 1994 and the Group II E-2C in 1995. At this same period Aircraft Carriers and then Ticonderoga class Cruisers had the associated LINK 16 terminals installed. Just supposition on my part but one would guess that newer carriers going into refit with decades of service ahead of them would receive this kind of upgrade while older units (Forrestal class carriers, USS America, Baseline 0 and 1 Ticonderoga class) wouldn't. Between 2003 and 2008 the Flight I Arleigh Burke class DDGs were upgraded to AEGIS Baseline 5 and by 2010 major NATO allies like the Royal Navy fitting to Invincible class carriers and Type 42s and Canada fleet-wide on the Halifax class Frigate by 2017.

The motivation behind this request is to facilitate increased use of CEC on AEGIS equipped ships.

<summary> NATO reporting names for Kh-101 and Kh-102 ALCM given as AS-23A Kodiak and AS-23B respectively </summary>
<detail> As stated it appears the Kh-101 has been designated AS-23A Kodiak and the Kh-102 (Nuclear) as AS-23B Kodiak.</detail>
<evidence>
Page.55 #389 August 2020 Airforces Monthly. Article Piotr Butowski. Russia's Strategic Warriors. Caption to photo includes the statement "Kh-101 cruise missiles loaded on a Tu-95MS..Known to NATO as the AS-23A Kodiak. (There is no further annotation of the source).

STATEMENT OF
GENERAL TERRENCE J. O’SHAUGHNESSY, UNITED STATES AIR FORCE
COMMANDER UNITED STATES NORTHERN COMMAND AND NORTH AMERICAN AEROSPACE DEFENSE COMMAND
BEFORE THE
SENATE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE
13 FEBRUARY 2020
"The Russian air force modernized five BEAR H heavy bombers in 2019, according to the country’s Defense Minister, upgrading the aircraft’s communications and navigation systems and
enabling them to launch the new AS-23 cruise missile". (Given that this is the newer Bear H the reference is almost certainly to the Kh-101/102 in relation to the AS-23)

"Russia has recently modernized both of its bombers, fitting them with a new cruise missile
system, the conventional AS-23A (Kh-101) and the nuclear AS-23B (Kh-102)."

And
https://www.clingendael.org/publication ... n-conflict

"How the Bear goes to war
To destroy targets located deep in Syria
it was necessary to involve Russia’s long-
range aviation in the war. Tu-95MS Bear
and Tu-160 Blackjack bombers were used
to launch cruise missiles at targets in the
Aleppo, Idlib and Raqqa provinces.10 Two
types of air-launched cruise missiles were
used in the strikes: firstly, the Kh-555 (AS-22
Kluge)
, a conventionally-armed variant of
the Cold War-era nuclear Kh-55 (AS-15
Kent), with a maximum range of 2,000 km;
secondly, the more modern Kh-101 (AS-23
Kodiak)
a conventionally-armed variant
of the nuclear Kh-102, with a maximum
range of 4,000 km" </evidence>

Thanks and I am now trying to work out what the real NATO designation is for the KH-38 tactical missile,as the Db3k is already using AS-22!

<summary> ADD Laser SDB (LSDB) GBU-39B/B </summary>
<detail> The weapon definitely offers improved capabilities over the older GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bomb and the Laser Small Diameter Bomb (LSDB). The standard GBU-39/B has a combination inertial navigation system and GPS guidance system, while the LSDB adds laser guidance.

The LSDB was already a significant upgrade that also included the necessary software to properly calculate how far ahead of a moving target the bomb has to fly to hit it, known as a “laser-lead” capability. The INS/GPS-directed SDB had no ability to hit moving targets. </detail>
