Losses for the day....nothing like the replay.
Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Losses...no idea where our losses come from. sigh.
Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Rant mode on: I am going back to not watching the replay. I spent two hours enjoying the turn, posting play by play updates to the AAR, and wrong. This has occurred so many times during the game....it just disgusts. I know I will never play the Allies again, and most likely never play another PBM game as I think back to all the times it hit my opponents and they requested do over turns etc creating hard feelings in an endeavor for fun. Hard to subject another player to this condition....
Over the course of the game, I was initially excited, especially to be fighting back against an aggressive Japanese attack in a scenario 2 game with a strange order of battle and devices. These bugs hits and the AAR was no fun when they did and my enthusiasm for the game dropped. It dropped even more during most of 1943 when I was giving five to ten minutes to the turn, but it started perking back up as I was excited to see how strategic bombing would play out.
Even the other day, the Hornet probably got hit by the synch bug and I missed it grasping at a searching naval plane.
Rant off. Sorry if this upsets some the very few readers that are left on the forum. Just how I feel.

I've had a half-formed thought that I was planning to post in both yours and your opponent's threads whenever the campaign ends, but I guess now's a good time for a short version: thank you for continuing with the AAR up to now. I've posted (mostly lurked) here for... wow, a lot of years, and as the game ages and the forum community dwindles, I think this is probably going to be the last great 'dual' AAR, where we get at least semi-regular updates from both sides and see into each perspective as events play out. And what a great one it is, a really exciting campaign!
I know it must be a lot of time and effort to post the play-by-plays especially, even without the frustrations like what just happened (on top of just playing the turns themselves at this point in the game

I enjoy your AAR, it is the first one that I will look at. Not that I can give a lot of advice to you on tactics or strategy but I can sometimes give advice on how things work like device upgrades. The only advice that I think would be useful is "Find the bastards and pile on!" by Major General George Smith Patton.

Lots of air attacks as Japan is super aggressive....our air defense is worn thru at Ningpo, despite devastating naval bombardments of Shanghai.
But the 1st Australian Div is fully unloaded at Ningpo...
Japan swarms Foochow with Iboats looking to get a damaged fleet carrier...no joy but it was close.
Our LRPs survive at Shaohing, next to Ningpo although Japan is building up troops at Hangchow (rail line).

I understand your frustrations Lowpe, but I will echo some of the previous posters. We do appreciate the time you take to post your AAR, and I certainly hope that you continue.
The WITP AE community remains very vibrant (arguably even more so now), but the vast majority of players have migrated to Youtube and especially discord. I myself, despite having posted frequently here in the past, have done so as well. Nevertheless, it is still nice to see AARs in the old format still going here. There are some advnatages to posting in the forum that you don't get in discord, notably a more accessible and permanent record.
Cheers.

I have got three large Desrons at Ningpo, patrolling, and they won't go fight the IJN one hex away, but four SCs will react into that hex hunting an Iboat. Go figure. Plus several PT boat squadrons....what more could you ask for: no moon, thunderstorms. Even my subs don't make contact.
