Anew cv group out of SF steamed into Northern JAp waters today, appearently catching some sleeping japs we will see DS 1 remains on duty prtectingthe Amami arewa.. as does ds3 ds 2 is transiting to a new area
Foochow is attacked with a side of rice pudding and some beef loo mein! I was surprised Pescadorus was only a fort of three! it will fall in a day or two.. then we will try to push as mch up the coast as we can.. getting those goes off the road by landing being them, so they cannot easily pull out!!!

My air units in DS 1 where slaughtered over korea when the tf moved and I had not changed their orders.. thought they where on Naval oops.. 250 brave crews !
MMy tactical units in Amami are pounding Nagasaki... soon we will have it up to a four..
Love the forward base concept in this type of battle... and I have litterally thousands of tactacal planes sitting around doing little.. some of course are in AMoy and some on defensive posture against possible raiders.. but I really am readying for a new push Fochowrepulse my second attack.. but I do not see these guys lasting too lang there..

Just reviewed saw something like anouther 5 b29 groups iun the next two months ..

The home Islands already? I was thinking maybe Puson and getting a reduction and the Russian activation? or one of htose nice little Islands? I hate it that the EVIL Twins are still around .. you know Yama and her sister dealing death from 18" guns... not for long as they have less and less places to hide... I really thought that Amami would see them, thats why 2500 naval air where available to cover that landing...

A quick ? for you guys.. Why didn'tthe US go after the KAmi bases more aggresively at during OKI invasion?

last turn Feb 27 1945.. Landed behind Fochow alongthe coastal highway.. so those troops there once we take the base will be forced to withdraw inland out of supply rather than retreat

They did - but there were just so many of them (and in a lot of cases, the bases themselves were no more than a dirt strip & a few huts) that it would have been impossible to put all of them out of commission. They did the best they could....

In WITP all airfields in an hex are only one target and you know without recon if planes are based there or not (especailly the Allied player as he gives orders after the Japanese air units move).

In reality, airfields attacks and strafings were a major cause of aircraft losses but the main difficulty was often to find the target. Outside operations, most aircraft were on secondary airfields, basically a field or a forest clearing.

DS killed a cv in port up north Sapporo...
Fochow reduced to 8 at fearfull cost in men.. something like 25k in the reports
hold a 450k to 120 k apx adv plus huge artilery and armo.. and 5k assault rolling in and more support art etc.. I have not been able to dislodge the unit from behing Fochow, but now have five units there and do not think he will be able to dislodge me...
Strategic points rise now and my possitive lead is closeing in on 12k.. I am about 110% of the 200% neededfor auto 2-1.. do not see it happening before 08 45

MAybe if I land on top of Tokyo, it is worth 15k!
But I do plan on Bombing the nuts of these guys...

Freeboy,

Try bombarding with your troops for 3 turns before making an attack. I wouldn't reccomend a deliberate or shock attack against troops unless you've disrupted them (ie bombardments for 3 days). Anyway, I tend to take less losses when I've really softened up the opposing troops via air or artillery battery.

Of course, that makes your combat go slower. You could also bombard for more than 3 days and while bombarding, try to surround a base. You'll get more points if you actually destroy his units.

But, it looks like you know what you're doing. it's interesting to read.

Z lost around 180 planes, I do not know how many where set to Kami role to nill in a2a yesterday. I have repetedly bombed Fochow for days.. land and sea.. and then you attack, I think when Chinese yunits are involved they get clobbered and take big drops.. anyway it is down to level 7.. and more fresh troops arriving daily for me while Z withdrew the road defenders leaving those guys in Fochow essentially screwed.. no supply lines, no hope of victory.. pretty sad.. but they are at fort 7 and at over 100k in strength no slouches.

B29 rolled again offthere bases and begain raining bombs on Foches .. today ordered back to strategic .. iwo forces the same.. Amami reached level 3 airbase... soon it will be a four and non b29 heavies wit hescorts will transfer in from Homan etc to start prepping for the invasion of base X[:D]

DS1 sailing into Northern Jap waters now???? what will they find????

Another day of land and air bombing of Fochow while troops rest and ready for anouthe rgo around... one thing I probably have been too lazy to do is look at all units one at a time and deleat the attack orders for the few weaker units.. tired etc

Moved the first group of twin e bombers into Amami today.. they will start hitting ports nearby.. I think Z has about 8 ports with ships... nottoo many.. and one Fochow becames my "forward" B29 base and Amami my Western level four heavy base we will see some land base raids to supplement those done by the brave naval flyboys

After several days bonbard the troops.. massively outnumbering the cut off and surrounded japs are attacking .. I will have Fochow! [:D] A large multi fleet Jap combat group has been spotted near Pusan Korea... at least they are spotted the evil twins are most likely there/ My carrier air has been waiting in three main groups one north one near Amami and one near Osaka

Two new targets will be attacked after Fochow falls. but already the retreating Japs are lossing bases in central China....

Again after several day in mid March 45 Fochow is attacked.. I lost nearly 100? over ?? B29 in raids against Southern Korea, new strategy.. wait for Amami to get to level four!.. today launced a sweep with fighter and FB.. lets see if I am able to hold my own!.. It is Puson that the remnents of the Jap fleet seem hold up at, so as soon as we can reduce that nasty cap... I bet all those guys are aces now! then we will pound these ships and all!.. note the DS has intered the Sea of Japan and will after reorganizing and getting some more fleet assets also approach Puson from the North... I know I will sink the Jap fleet, the goal is to not get into any nasty surface actions before then..
Maybe in WITP2 we could see a GROUND THE BB in the shallows sand create an unsinkable platform!


Besides China and the sweep of the fighters out of Amami, still level three but very close to 4, I am launching a number of attacks with tactical air torpedo and dive bombers against unprotected bases in Japan that they can reach at full yeild.. of course my total numbers at amami are rediculasly high ... at least my av support units finally arived..

One note to Allied players.. p51 really are better just got damaged when other groups got really hit hard... seems they fall out of the sky less for some reason.. [:D]

the daily report showed alittle more Jap planes shot down in a2a.. each lost over 200 in that sweep over Puson, Fuchow looks like a good bet to fall today or the next .. heavily suppressed Japs are no doube starving and fresh supplies and troops keep intering on my side.. for level down to 4.. my strongest units still strong and not disrupted after these attacks

Fochow drops another level looks like it is in a death spiral as my forces are attacking and still getting better disruption levels... so I can attack consecutively.. fort level at 3 Puson air space now mine and Amami now a four airfield the bb groups are fleeing into the Sea of Japan.. lets get them boys another group of ships in the inter japan water ways?? not much else going on... nothing flew yesterday.. must have been the weather...

ochow fell the next day as believed.. 100k troops hopefully trapped there too, the sisters.. Yamato and Musashi? where hit as the meandered into coastal japan... no torpedo hits so they probably are fine.. sortied everybody near them to try aand end this menace.. operations now proceeding to attack new bases,, details soon
