Ouch. OK, belay my last. I see a good reason to clean up the rear. Good luck countering the kamis.

I know this is a game, and a very good one, but in real life bypassed bases were graveyards of relatively intact aircraft as spare parts dried up and cannibalization reached its limits.

I keep trying to take shortcuts and let the auto route program get my long distance task forces into trouble....you think I would have learned.

Babeldaob isn't really bypassed yet....it still has a supply line. I have bombed its runways and ports several times, but I have never put an effort into keeping it closed permanently.

You asked a bunch of questions....opsec I am sure he just accidentally clicked into my AAR...it happens. Yep, planning on attacking...I have mapped out the next few attacks and have started setting prep.

I have always like playing with barges...but I never tried using them to ferry into a beachhead....so I thought I would see what happens. Ferrying troops to and from Formosa though seems like an ideal use for them.

I have only ever found strafing naval attack fighters effective at engaging single ship task forces. Subs are good for merchant ships, but no good at Es and DDs. But the E's orDDs are always out of range by the air phase so far.

I lost a 1000 vp when Japan invaded Australia. they had Perth to Kalgoorlie, Darwin, and down to Bundaberg area... Plus Diego Garcia, and into India.

Putting some Lightnings up over some junky merchants trying to lure in a high altitude kamikaze strike....curious to how effective they will be as counter.

Thanks for the answers. I see from your other post the Babel kami raid was more of a routing mistake on your part rather than kamis using a deeply bypassed base.

I use barges a lot myself. Nothing beats them for moving troops and supplies where air superiority is not assured. I think you mentioned you had some in training if you go back a few pages. I was curious about that. I don't train any of my ships. Your usage of them around Formosa makes sense.

Also, good info on countering single ships. You know better than I as a long-time JFB.

Thanks on the Strat VP answer. The old noggin doesn't retain memories like it used to.

Good luck with the P-38s on LRCAP. That's my favorite aircraft for that mission, but we'll have to see how good they are against kamis.

Japanese troops can't even inflict any Allied losses in ground combat...hoping to not really destroy all of the industry.
