Quiet day...
taking Formosa, Hong Kong, and Canton will free up c5000AV with which to:
1. Invade up the Yangtze River into the plains of China
2. Grab the remaining Chinese Ports with local pushes to cut rail line into China from Korea
3. Invade Korea and cut it in half
4. Take the Japanese Islands
Or some combination of the above and more troops are flowing in daily. I won't wait to start the next operation will push on ahead aggressively even though Formosa and Hong Kong aren't finished yet.

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Currently a long way from Ningpo....but cutting off supply lines into China is doable. As is a landing into Korea.

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
A last minute move....invincible kamikazes that never miss. I was hoping the Lightnings would be able to destroy them....I am guessing that that recon planes are hard wired to take less damage than normal planes (from interceptors and AAA) to prevent excessive losses during recon runs. So there is really no way to prevent them from hitting....a battleship can take a lot of kamikaze hits but the kamis will generally target carriers first. It is a problem.

So 12 Irvings attacked, seven were destroyed and 12 Kami hits were scored? Something is not adding up here ...

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Well, what does the combat replay show? Did the fighters even engage and shoot at the Irvings at all? Note that your LRCAP appears to be completely out of position, with all "0 airborne, 0 on standby, 0 scrambling" fighters for all squadrons.
As for the 7 destroyed, I believe a Kami is listed in the destroyed field when it crashes into its target, and given that the combat report always underestimates the losses...
