In West Med the Garibaldi initiates searching but Axis 8 and Allies 10 really do take the biscuit.

In Cape St Vincent, the Italian sub skippers are elated to spot smoke on the horizon until it turns into the escorts (Axis 4, Allied 1).

How would CW like to set about things. With 4 surprise points they can avoid combat or how else would they like to spend them?

I don't avoid combat, I try to damage/sink subs. Surprise points are used to increase own damage, own ships will take full damage.

I'm not sure who can decide combat type when points are not used... Soon I find that out.

Hope I chose right for the D result but this looks to be the worst ship.

The Italians opt for another round and I assume the Allies don't want to abort the area, so seconds out, round 2.

The Italians again spot smoke and head for combat. Again, it turns out to be the escorts (both rolled 1).

The Axis luck continues its current rich vein.

Then, with yet another 1 rolled, the Allies successfully search in East Med.

Fortunately, the Italians roll a 4.

It all comes to naught as the CW use their surprise points to reduce the damage to NE.

The second round is an exact mirror of the first with yet another 1 for the Allies and a 4 for the Axis, so NE.

The third round. Allies 4, Axis 6. Surprise reduces CW losses to NE. The Italians lose another CP.

Both sides elect to stay but, with no targets, the CW does not commit subs and the combat ends.

Jap 12th Inf rails back to Seoul.

Jap units around Canton move inland a bit. A Terr in Korea makes a slight adjustment to it's position.

The Japs rebase 2 Ftr's from Manchuria to Japan.

The Germans rebase 2 Stukas and a Ftr closer to the front in France.

Von Beck reorgs an Arm, Mech and 88mm.

On a 10, the weather is unchanged.

J/A 1940 Allies 5

CW asks France to help with Italy. France is happy to help as CW has provided lots of help earlier.
France declares war on Italy! US is not pleased. (roll 2 = 2 chits removed from US entry pool)

France naval, CW and US combined, China and USSR land.

CW brings Indian INF to Suez.

Italian subs go to Italian Coast and Eastern Med.

Fleet of BB's and CV sails to Western Med. Does Germany/Italy want to intercept the fleet?

Transporter escorted by 3 CL/CA enters to Eastern Med.

Does Germany or Italy react now?

I think I could be tempted.

Disorganise one of the CL's in the 4-box, thanks.

Axis roll 1. France has plans and they are trying to fight trough rolling 3.

How does Axis want to use their surprise points and do they choose air to sea combat?

Yes please, naval air. I think the AA will be NE. If so, all points to boost combat values. Otherwise, reduce AA to NE and add the remainder to combat.
