Kind of at a lull right now. One of the allied partner's computer died and just recently was replaced, the other two kept the turns moving. Nice thing about doing partner games. One of the other allied partner's real life has changed a little. Hopefully for the better. It does show promise with his less time on the game for him, not good for game time, but hey, it is a game. Now, now... all of you put those stones down...

On the other side business travel has limited them. So, this has resulted in a much slower pace and with some multi-million dollar proposals and contracts being worked on at my work, I haven't been distracted by turns coming in.

This has given the player with the computer issue more time to get everything back up to speed on his end, so that has helped.

Hopefully things will pick up again. Big plans are in the works for the Allies. Should be an interesting June of 1942!

24 MAY 42

Extensive notes on what is going on to get Jeff up to speed.

CONUS:

130th USAAF BF arrives at Astoria, starting to build the airfield there to level 4, and ready for ASW aircraft.

12th BG arrives at Stockton, they are restricted. So, bomber training crews they are! Off to the Eastern USA with them. First fill out their pilots and max their training.

Notes: Pilots training, new units moving to Pago Pago for distribution there. 1/3 supply and fuel going to Pago Pago, 2/3 to Sydney. Harvey is pulling what he needs from Eastern USA. Some of the older BBs that started on the West coast are upgrading here.

632nd TD BN arrives at San Francisco, loaded on a xAK, AMC, and escorted by an APD to Pago Pago, round trip is 20 days.

All the components for the 2nd Marine Division are on the map. One regiment is not Pacific Ocean areas, 2nd Marine Rgt. It will take 318 PPs to change the command of this unit. When do we want these guys to get together? And, where? I am thinking Pago Pago as one regiment is already there. One unit is at Pearl and the other two are at San Diego. I am shipping both of them to San Francisco for transport, but will still need the PPs to convert them before loading, of course.

Elements of the 3rd Marine Division are arriving at San Diego. Last unit to arrive is four months away.

33rd Aviation BF arrives at Eastern USA, sending to San Francisco for deployment to Pago Pago from there. It is a 90V base force, but nothing else.

NOPAC:

Stalemate in the great white north. We hold from Umnak Island East and they hold the rest of the Aleutian Islands. They are building bases at Attu and Adak Island. It will be a while before we can push them out. In the mean time we are building up Dutch Harbor (very slowly) and Cold Bay. Dutch is the stopping block, Cold Bay is going to be the bomber base. It will also allow us to ferry aircraft from CONUS to Midway to the rest of SOPAC. Prince Rupert is the logistics base for this region. Everything going to here comes from there. There are two BBs and four DDs at Kodiak in case the Japanese get frisky. Plenty of fuel and supply stockpiled.

CANAL ZONE:

Wasp will be here 3 days. Escorts arrive in 3 days. She will be able to continue on to Pago Pago with 2xDD immediately. Otherwise we are just moving ships to the combat area through the canal zone. Nothing else to do here this turn.

CENTPAC:

Since the main sub base is here, Midway, we will discuss sub ops for the non-SOPAC regions. Subs out of Midway are mainly getting a feel for where the enemy is moving cargo ships since the Mk14s are still problematic and congress won’t let me just dump all of them in the ocean and order new ones. Patrols are scattered all over the Home Islands, around Formosa, and the Batan straight. A couple are snooping in the Marshalls and some are assisting at Truk with SOPAC subs. There are three currently upgrading to the new 4/42 radar suites. The rest of this fleet is current on its upgrades.

Pearl is just a refuel point for the convoys going to Sydney and a training base for the most part. There are some damaged warships here, but they turn around pretty quickly.

2nd USMC Engr is loading up at Pearl for a trip to Pago Pago. This is where the 2nd Marine Rgt will form up.

15 ACMs leave Pearl Harbor en route to Pago Pago, then onto Brisbane for distribution there.

1 ACM goes to Palmyra to support its minefield.

1 ACM goes to Christmas Is to support its minefield.

SOPAC:

Obviously this has been an almost main effort area for us. PM and New Guinea are the only thing more important right now. We have built up Pago Pago to a nice FOB with Ports of 5, Airfield of 6, but will soon be 7. There is 300k supply and 28k fuel stockpiled here. More of each are on the way.

Luganville is also developing nicely, currently 4/4 soon to be 4/5, with 38k supplies and 3700 fuel. More of both on the way from Pago Pago. Building a supplemental base at Vanua Lava, to support further operations up the chain at Ndeni with LBA. We are holding our own at Ndeni. They need supplies to do any more, but we can’t get them in without air cover. Hence the base at Vanua Lava. There is a cruiser squadron at Vanua Lava, they will make great escorts for the Wasp when she gets there.

Three TFs have left Pago Pago for Noumea to be used to build up Milne Bay. This is the biggest coordination thing we have going on. You will need to get with Harvey on the status of your BBs in North Australia.

CA Chicago took some heavy damage from an air attack and is at Luganville with an AR alongside. Her FLT and ENG are not bad, 7/14 respectively. Her SYS is is at 62. It started at 64 and didn’t start going down until the AR fixed all the minor FLT/ENG damage. Now the SYS is starting to go down. Figure get her down to 40 or so and send her to Sydney to fix her fully. Going to take a while.

CLAA San Juan is disbanded at Luganville, waiting to join the cruiser SCTF when it returns.

S-41 is a Noumea, but Noumea has no fuel. Sending S-41 to Luganville, there is plenty of fuel there for her. Then will send her on to Brisbane. Need to get fuel to Noumea. Sending the slow replenishment TF at Pago Pago to Noumea.

ANZAC:

SS Dolphin is done with repairs at Sydney, will be upgrading to the 4/42 upgrade next.

Subs down under are based mostly out of Brisbane. They are all the S-Boats and some fleet boats. They are covering the tactical approaches to both southern New Guinea, and the Solomans. A lot of them are where Jeff put them, but some have been adjusted as the tactical situation warranted.

CHINA:

Note to Jeff, still holding the line in the rough terrain. Japanese starting to expand into southern China, nothing surprising.

Nothing to do here.

RUSSIA:

Nothing to do here.

24 MAY 1942

Submarine Actions:

S-39 takes a few hits at Tulagi. She needs to remain on station, maybe she will get one of the damaged ships from the naval battle at Vanua Lava.

KXVIII is sighted at Soerabaja, twice, but only minimal damage is done.

CL Glasgow takes two torpedoes off of Koggala, heavy damage reported. I-153 takes heavy damage in the return ASW attack.

Grampus hits a PB off of Umboi Island, it appears to have been damaged already, but the torpedo duds.

Surface Actions:

BBs Haruna and Kirishma lead a force that attacked our transports at Vanua Lava. On DD is sunk on our side. Our ships run. Leaving the transports vulnerable, which are promptly sunk, also.

Air Actions:

12 P-40Bs sweep Buna, 9 Zeros defend on two occasions. One P40 vs. 2 Zeros lost.

25 Sallys bomb SE of Wuchang with 18 Oscar escorts, 10 P-40Es are there to defend, one P-40E is lost and the attack does minimal damage.

50 Sallys bomb Myitkyina, doing minimal damage.

57 Sallys bomb Bandoeng, doing minimal damage.

4 Sallys bomb Cebu, doing no damage.

30 B-17s bomb Buna, 5 Zeros defend. 5 airbase, 3 supply, 23 runway, and 1 port hits.

3 B-26 with 10 Kittyhawks attack the forces on the Owen Stanley ridge, one zero defends, no damage is observed.

Ground Actions:

Bombardment at Bandoeng, minimal casualties to the Allies.

Deliberate attack at Myitkyina, 138 Japanese vs. 324 Allied casualties. Forts reduced to 0.

Bombardment at PM does 28 Japanese vs. 40 Allied casualties.

Shock attack at Gorontalo sends the Dutch into the jungle there taking the base.

SigInt of Note:

nothing.

CONUS:

Moving the 27th ID and the 32nd ABF to Mojave to help develop it into a level 7 airfield to help with aircraft management. Also, 3rd USN Eng unit at Port Henume is not at full strength yet and will need some time before shipping out. While waiting it will also help build up Mojave. Moved it to Pacific Area now, since it isn’t at full strength to save PPs later.

xAK Rufus King arrives at Portland, AM Bayfield escorts her on the four day trip to San Francisco.

301st/352nd BG arrives at Eastern USA, is restricted and leaving soon, stuffed with trainees and set to standard training regimen.

NOPAC:

Nothing to do here.

CANAL ZONE:

Nothing to do here.

CENTPAC:

Louisville and escorts arrive at Pearl. Set to repair in the shipyard. Moved Chester to pierside as she will repair there. Will have room when the BBs start arriving to put them right into the yard.

SOPAC:

Changed Chicago to pierside as the repair ship will auto allocate from there instead of just repairship. Consensus is this works better from the forums. CLAA Atlanta is still fighting fires, but there are only 32 and she is disbanded in port.

Put San Diego into the existing SCTF here. It is down to 2xCA, a CLAA, and 5xDD. DD Conyngham is removed and set to escort ships to repair facilities as her ASW is not upgraded yet and she is overdue for the upgrade at a repair yard.

Changed search patterns around Luganville/Ndeni to cover some holes.

Moved Marine Dauntlesses, now that they have fully assembled, from Noumea to Efate to cover the western approaches to Luganville.

Sending 20k supplies from Pago Pago to Efate.

Redirecting 9k supplies earmarked to Ndeni to Efate, as it will be a while before we can push supplies into there and ships just sitting in the middle of the ocean are not safe after a while (more chance of a sub finding them). So, put them in Efate, send the TF back to Suva to wait there in port.

ANZAC:

Nevada still upgrading…

CHINA:

Nothing to do here.

RUSSIA:

Nothing to do here.

RE: Forbidden: The Billionaire's Virgin Princess - Tales of a 3 on 2

Post by jeffk3510 »

Harvey... I am shuffling around CAs/CLs/DDs and a few BBs to Townsville area to gear up for the Mline Bay operation, reinforcing Port Moresby and bombardment runs.

I put California, San Francisco, one more CA and five DDs on a bombardment run to Port Moresby

14 hexes away at 6 movement.. couple of turns away. I took the liberty of LRCAPing 80% with the big P38 unit out of Townsville with drop tanks... once she is close to Port Moresby, do you mind some more protection for there to stand down the P38s in a turn.

Once this is done, California will go into refit for a month come June in a few days.

Once Mline Bay is secured and AF built up, what is your plan for all of the 2E and 4E bombers in that area?

I am wanting to try an all DD bombardment run into Shortlands in the middle of the night. It is reachable if I position them
around the Mline Bay area, and they will arrive during the night. Will they ALSO retreat after their run 9-10 during the day phase
to be out of his bomber's reach? What are you guys thinking. There are a ton of AC on Shortlands, and we'll need to neutralize it some day.

We have a lot of Lvl 5 AFs in Luganville, Efate, and that area as well...

I am just re positioning ships for the upcoming operations.

Left a CA force in Luganville for that area's operations.

Arizona is in Sydney and needs a refit in a larger yard. Should she go to Pearl or Capetown?
It needs to be at least 35 or 38.. I don't recall. I'll need an escort or two for her.

Marblehead is in Melbourne with 2 DDs.. are you leaving them there to react to any Japanese movements in Western Aus?

What are your thoughts over there as well?

Thanks.

As for the Arizona, I plan on sending her with the Nevada as soon as she finishes her refit in 2-3 days to Pearl for an upgrade. It will keep her closer to the theater of operations. A couple of DDs will be all we need to send them to Pearl. Will route them by Pago Pago and refuel there. They will be going slow 6 hexes a turn with the Nevada. The Nevada by herself would be 9 hexes a turn. But it conserves DDs for operations in SOPAC. I have more DDs coming back from Pearl right now. They will arrive in Pago Pago shortly and join up with the Wasp, which I will then turn over to you Jeff. I have lost enough of our CVs...

Edit: Took out my sig... Would look really bad with my last sentence to have it in there. [;)]

Yeah, but losing the Big E was the one that hurt. I hate sinking her as the Japanese!

27 MAY 1942

Submarine Actions:

KIX Duds on a DD North of Medang. Takes no hits in return. Later that night it duds again, on an xAK.

Seawolf duds on a PB near Ominato.

Permit duds on a PB near Truk for no damage in return. Twice.

Surface Actions:

Air Actions:

8 Zeros sweep Kukong. We have nothing there. They are being cautious.

130 Sallys (just under half are IIa models) bomb the cavalry SW of Changsha. We have 7 P40s in the air. We shoot down one Oscar and damage one Sally. 750 Chinese casualties. Very little dead, most disabled. No P40s were lost.

Trailing raid in same hex by 18 unescorted IIa Sallys results in 3 of them dead for minimal ground losses for us.

Another trailing raid in the same hex by 9 unescorted IIa Sallys results in 1 dead and 1 damaged for minimal ground losses for us.

7 Sallys bomb Cebu for minimal damage.

Zeros final show up to sweep the taget hex above. We have only 1 P40 in the air and it is shot down.

37 B-17s bomb Lae in two raids. 5 Zeros defend. 1 Zero is lost, 1 B-17 is lost. Lae takes 5 airbase and 13 runway hits.

22 P-39Ds attack a TF NE of Buna. 9 Zeros defend. 3 P-39s are lost, but a PB takes multiple shell hits and 3 bomb hits. Should be enough to sink her.

35 Nicks attack the same hex in China. More Chinese die.

Ground Actions:

Japanese bombard Mytikyina for minimal damage.

PM bombardment does minimal damage to either side.

SigInt of Note:

21st/C Division is located at Port Hedland(57,129) Could they be pushing for Perth?

Yokosuka Assault SNLF is planning for an attack on Cocos Islands (Good to know, set an ambush?)
