CONUS:

DD Hughes upgrading, when she is done, she will be upgrading again!

First 10 ship EC-2 convoy finishes loading at San Francisco, sent to Pago Pago with Supplies and Fuel. Will return to LA, then be a CS Fleet from there.

AM Bayfield sent back to Portland from San Francisco to keep shuttling EC-2s from there to either San Francisco or LA.

HqSqn, the 360th and the BS (Comp) arrive at Mojave. They are leaving later in June, so I stuffed them with less than fully trained bomber crews from the reserves (20-30 GRDB skill) to continue training

Loading 5th Marine, 1st USMC FA, 637th TD BN, and 1st USMC Para for a trip from San Francisco to Pago Pago.

When do we want to attempt to get Chicago and Atlanta down to Sydney or Brisbane? They have minimal Flt and Eng dmg, but significant Sys (60 and 59). The AR is fixing 1 Sys every four turns for the CA, and so, far 1 Sys every turn for the CLAA. Wait until they get below 50 Sys and then try to move them?

Nevada is finished upgrading, pulling her out of pierside, she will be ready to go with the Arizona for Pearl in a few days.

Submarine Actions:

Gudgeon is attacked by a SC just West of Truk. No damage.

S-31 puts a torpedo into a xAK at Lunga. One hit in return. Extra damage on the xAK, should sink her.

DD Downes attacks RO-66 SW of PM for no damage.

S-35 misses on a xAK at Lunga, takes three hits in return. It is noted that the xAK from earlier is still burning.

One of our subs, south of Shortlands is reporting flooding issues, may need to send her back to Brisbane for repairs.

Surface Actions:

California SCTF bombards PM for 31 losses.

Air Actions:

8 Zeros sweep SW of Changsha, we have 4 P-40Es, one is lost. I believe these guys are done here. We are down to less than 10, time to take them back to Calcutta until we have more airframes to build up. Maybe even harvest the good pilots and us them as training units. What do you think Harvey?

I-5 misses with a torpedo on DD Mugford, who turns around and delivers one hit on the same sub.

Permit spots and evades two SC SE of Truk for no damage.

I-173 misses DD Mahan S of PM, no damage was done to the sub.

Surface Actions:

CL Sumatra and DD Decoy surprise the small amphib group working down the West coast of Sumatra, sinking an E, PB, and two xAK for no damage.

Bombardment at PM delivers 100 casualties to the Japanese.

CONUS:

1st Marine arrives at San Francisco, set to load on TF to Pago Pago. Last part of the 1st Marine Division to assemble on Pago Pago.

AM Lockeport arrives at Vancouver. Pulled one AM from the rotating ASW TF based out of there and sent it to San Francisco to help patrol that area.

NOPAC:

CENTPAC:

Jeff, SS Greenling is ready for patrol at Midway.

SOPAC:

DD Morris detached from TF 338 to disband at Noumea, she has a 12 day upgrade due.

Tanker TF set to deliver 6k of fuel to Noumea. Set their route around normal routes to avoid subs.

ANZAC:

CL St. Louis is sent back to Brisbane, after I forgot to set her home port to Brisbane… grrr…

TF 378 contains two DDs, Meredith and Grayson, which need to upgrade. They need a size 5 repair yard. Sent them to Brisbane and set to disband there. This upgrades them to larger caliber AAA weapons and allows a much better upgrade later. It is necessary.

DD Sims is in TF 310, escorting Exter and 2xCLs. Her upgrade doesn’t need a repair yard and is only 12 days. She can do this at Perth. Please get her there when you can, Harvey.

DD’s Mustin and O’Brian need upgrading, they are on active ASW patrol, but near their endurance level. Recommend they spend 12 days at Townsville getting refitted. O’Brian needs a reload of DCs also.
BBs Nevada and Arizonia formed up with two escorts (a DD and APD) for the 20 day trip to Pearl, for repairs and upgrades.

3 CMs at Melbourne are ready to upgrade which gives them a 1 ASW for a 10 day upgrade there.

CHINA:

Some minor HQ adjustments to keep them from getting bunched up and spread their bonuses around.

Submarine Actions:

Sturgeon is spotted before she can attack, she takes two hits from the E escort.

KXIII duds on an xAK, no damage from the escorts. Later in the day, she is spotted and attacked again, for no damage. She also gets a shot off to a DD, but misses. Not a good day for the KXIII.

KXI is spotted at Soerabaja, but no damage done.

Surface Actions:

Japanese SCTF led by the Nagato, wipe the CL/DD SCTF at Cocos Island off of the map. Some of the Japanese DDs are on fire, that is bad for them. BB vs. CL is a losing proposition, every time. The PTs there are sunk, also.

DD Griffin drives off a minesweeper at Cocos Island.

Air Actions:

15 Kittyhawks sweep Buna in two raids, nothing rises.

15 P-38s sweep Horn Island in two raids, 4 Zeros rise, 1 Zero falls.

6 Dauntless’ escorted by 14 Wildcats attack Buna in two raids. One xAKL takes two 1000 lb bombs. I don’t think it will survive. Another one takes one 1000 lb bomb and is left on fire.

Zeros sweep Kukong. Nothing there.

176 Sallys and 35 Nicks bomb the units SW of Changsha, again. 1420 casualties.

6 Sallys bomb Cebu for minimal damage.

19 P-39Ds attack Finshhafen escorted by 14 P-40Es. 12 Zeros are there to defend. 1 P-39 is lost to 1 Zero destroyed on the ground. There were 2 airbase and 3 runway hits, also.

CONUS:

Reviewed air groups. Found a Lancer squadron that had 17 aircraft in it, was able to “upgrade” it to 11 P-39Ds. This will free up 17 airframes to hopefully upgrade the P-38s to next turn when they cycle through.

NOPAC:

Nothing to do here.

CANAL ZONE:

AK arrives, sent to Balboa for convoy formation.

CENTPAC:

Reviewed air groups. Made adjustments to more advanced groups to get more diverse training as needed.

SOPAC:

Unloading fuel at Noumea and sending the AOs back to Pago Pago to get more. Keep moving stuff forward.

The AR at Luganville is slowly repairing SYS damage on both Chicago and Atlanta. Waiting until they are down to 40 each, then sending to Auckland for repairs.

ANZAC:

Nothing to do here.

CHINA:

Waiting on five more airframes to fill out 74th FS at Calcutta before moving it into China.

CONUS:

xAK Cape Flattery arrives at Seattle, she makes a good less than 6k tonnage xAP, sent to the yard at Seattle for immediate conversion.

Still waiting on Lancer frames to arrive back in the pool to get the P38s back.

NOPAC:

Nothing to do here.

CANAL ZONE:

AGP Hilo arrives at Balboa, loading with supplies and prepping for Pago Pago. An escort will meet her and bring her into Pago Pago.

CENTPAC:

Nothing to do here.

SOPAC:

118th USAAF BF loading at Pago Pago on ships less than 6k each to unload at Vanua Lava to move fighters to it to help cover Ndeni.

Short range ACMs sent to Savaii and Tahiti to support those minefields. Some fuel sent to Tahiti to facilitate this. Also to Auckland and Wellington. The rest are sent as a group (12) are sent to Sydney to distribute north to ports there and the rest towards Perth to cover the Southern Australia coast and then on to Cape Town with a speed 12 convoy and then on to India. Should cover all but one location that needs one.

S-35 is taken out of service at Noumea for repairs. Will be ready in five days.

Gridley will probably sink at Ndeni this next turn unless they can get the fires under control.

Added four more search aircraft to VP-42 at Rossel Island to support the upcoming operation at Milne Bay. This will give this location a full squadron.

ANZAC:

At Brisbane, put S-47 into the yard for repair. Will be out in 5 days.

At Brisbane, put S-34 into the yard for repair. Will be out in 4 days.

Graduated a class of naval search pilots for the Kiwis at Wellington. Exp/NavS/Defn were all 60+, some in the 70s. Moved to General Reserve and filled back up with green pilots.

CHINA:

Const Eng from Changsha to Tuyun to build a layered AF system.

Moved 10 pilots from a transport unit at Luganville with not enough aircraft to a unit at Ledo that didn’t have enough pilots, but had plenty of aircraft. Filled out the Luganville unit with green pilots to train them up.

Only reason I noticed this, Harvey, was the 1st AVG was at Ledo and I was harvesting her pilots for the general reserve and moving the airframes to Calcutta to fill out units there.

I-174 is sighted by DD Downes SE of Cooktown, no damage detected.

I-17 takes a shot at KV Dawson, misses, and the KV does no damage in return.

I-17 is detected and attacked by 2xKVs near Victoria. No damage is done.

Grenadier duds on a PB SW of Nagisaki, takes no damage in the ASW attack.

I-5 misses DD Mugford NW of Pearl Harbor who gets a lick in before breaking off.

Surface Actions:

2 PTs encounter 2xCA, 3xDD at Cocos Islands. One PT is sunk.

10 Wildcats and 3 Dauntlesses raid Lae, 5 Zeros rise to defend. 1 Wildcat is lost to the Zeros and 1 Dauntless to flak.

18 P-39s raid Lae, 3 Zeros rise to defend. 1 P-39 is lost, two barges are sunk and a PB is severely damaged.

9 P-40s Sweep Finschhafen, nothing rises.

Ground Actions:

Japanese Shock attack East of Kukong. They had 2:1 odds, two Chinese units retreated. 6000 Japanese losses to 3100 Chinese. Not bad.

Bombardment at PM does 21 Japanese to 7 Allied losses, they did lose five guns though.

Our Deliberate attack at Cocos Island does 700 Japanese casualties to our 271. It should be noted that they lost destroyed 78 squads, 7 guns, and 2 vehicles, where we only lost 1 squad destroyed, the rest was disabled.

Only big thing is getting Louisville out of Ndeni. There was a good DD there, put them in an Escort TF at Speed 6/3 and sent them to Luganville. Tasked one of the P39D Squadrons that were training for strafing to over watch them just to be sure. They can go back to training tomorrow after they tie up in port. Another week and Chicago and Atlanta can leave for Sydney.
