I think Improv is short for improvised, not improved. [8|] Some steel plates welded to a truck chassis, not really a factory designed and produced armoured car.
That does make sense. I am so dumb. [:D]

Who is your LGEN commanding Western Command?
He should be written up for a DSO!
He has one!
Sir Stanley George Savige, KBE, CB, DSO, MC, ED
Did they have to mention his Erectile Disfunction?

I can't be certain this is it without looking at your individual game and scenario files, but they might not be the same device even though they have the same name. The device number is the unique identifier. There are several devices in the scenarios with the same name but different pools for different nationalities. Some of those unfortunate naming collisions were cleaned up by scenario developers adding this like "Aus" or whatever to a device's name, but there are still some devices out there with same names.ORIGINAL: BBfanboy
I am in 1943 with lots of supply in China and the Chinese units still will not upgrade to 105s. Have had them in rest mode, well supplied large bases, HQs in range, etc. but no dice. The Marine Regiments with 75mm guns get them instead.ORIGINAL: Lowpe
Device Upgrades:
I unlocked 25# artillery, and the B and C units of the 1st Burma division helped themselves to 4 pieces, but no Australian unit upgraded...I have around c25+ left.
3 Stuart 1s arrived in eastern Australia. Was hoping to get some out west near Perth.
I unlocked 8 105mm pieces for the Chinese, but no joy there...where they are needing in the forest rough terrain countering the IJA tank spearhead. I don't think they will arrive today either...we shall see.
Still trying to understand how and why the display "=" gets used on the lcu screen.
[/center]This sounds like a good explanation - 105s earmarked for China could appear later on, or in smaller numbers that are not enough to replace the Chinese 75mm guns in the game. I am looking at the Chinese arty units with 16 X 75mm guns.ORIGINAL: witpqs

IIRC when you look at device pools, either in-game or in Tracker, sort by name to see which devices have unfortunate name collisions.ORIGINAL: Lowpe

At least in this mod, the 105s that I have 9 of seem to be used only by Chinese units.

Where do you have sub as picket lines?? I would say off SE Java/Denpasar area and off Exmouth to see what is coming for western Australia.
Nathan will first ensure he has bought out what he needs for China from Manchuria first. He will make sure than China will fall by late 42 or early 43. In our game he came down eastern Australia to Brisbane and took all of western Australia. Lots of strategic bombing of major resource centers for VPs.
I would like to raid Hokkaido, but I don't feel I have the fighter strength to do it yet.

Challenge from me: what likely opposition will you face?
You'll know as well as I do just how much of desert NorPac is for Japan in terms of assets in early '42. The scary stuff (Betty's and Zeros) look well occupied in other theatres.
I've tried Nates and Jeans against Allied CV raids, and it didn't go well.
Also no requirement for a raid to involve carriers. Destroyers are ideal for this, and the bases on Hokkaido are not ideal for dive bombers.
Sly of you to mention the 18 pounders but not the US 105s! Or were the latter not at Perth in time?ORIGINAL: Lowpe
Some misc notes from Japan, for anyone that isn't reading NJP's aar:
From sources inside Japan:
I can confirm 25th Army HQ Yamashita (Conqueror of Java) is very unhappy with the 21st Division performance LGEN Tanaka now removed from command.
Also the summer dust storm outside of Perth that blinded the 7th Tank regt allowing the US unit not to be properly identified and subsequently escape has caused a feeling amongst the 25th Army that the operation is indeed cursed. Yamashita is due to give a pep talk to all units deployed on 8th Jan 1942 to settle nerves.
Lots of fun- I missed an opportunity with Perth!
This was the leaked intel by the Allies to Japan that prompted that share:
Japanese intel from the 21st Division reports the Australians in Perth were commanded by General Stanley Savige, and he might be getting a CBE from Churchill. On the ground, the 18 pound artillery was very effective…but that the troops were pretty much militia grade and nothing special.
The Dutch sailors were granted leave, and there was dancing in the streets! Plans for the reconquest of Java have started already! War is rumored to be over by Christmas!
Or so they think.
I am taking the time to share devices used in battles to add flavor to the game...things that are hidden in the replays but add so much enjoyment and also better gameplay.
