BBfanboy wrote: Wed Feb 14, 2024 3:05 pm Very interesting CV battle. I didn't expect Princeton and Alabama to be in such good shape considering the hits they took. Maybe your next HB raid on Truk should be a port attack to catch the KB trying to repair some damage?

I had secondary mission as Port attack, so when I ordered my TFs withdraw, they took "parting shot" and bagged CVE Hosho in port.

Combat report will be published bit later.

Saw that report. Still a CVE and 2 SS damaged there. I was thinking of your Liberators for the port strike to finish off cripples. I think you had some raiding Truk a few turns ago, but maybe at night because of the fighters at Truk?

I see what you mean about Hoe's luck. It looks like it didn't avoid the convoys on its way back for repairs so that adds to my suspicion the Captain has crazy aggression rating. Gollum angry.gif
Most of the USN submarine commanders were very aggressive in late 1943 and onwards because those that were not seen aggressive enough were swiftly removed. Sort of "results or out" which caused some friction earlier when higher-ups didn't believe that it was not lack of trying but faulty torpedoes.
