To easy pressure on Woehler 's front Kleist orders 6th Armee and 18th Armee to conduct a limited offensive towards Zavetnoe and Kotelnkovsky hoping to force the enemy to redeploy units away from 4th Pz Armee's front. The advance pushes 30 miles forward resulting in 6th Guards Inf Corps cut off and isolated. The plan partially works as some Red Army Units pull back from AG South's line.
On the Caspian Coast the situation is quiet with both sides digging in.
Note
The second huge Inf Corps cut off

A massive rain storm has swept across Western Europe virtually grounding most aircraft on both sides, all but a few air operations are conducted, the Allies launched a small number of sorties in France against Air bases causing very little damage, they also conducted some Recon flights, one mission flying as far as Southern Germany which targeted Mainz where German air units engaged the enemy, this was however our only interception mission as all Luftwaffe air units were grounded.

In Southern Europe rain was heavy but not bad enough to stop air operations, the enemy launched large scale raids on both ground forces and targeted rail and Communications Installations, front line units came under heavy air bombardment, The Allies also ran large scale Reconnaissance missions throughout Central Italy, Axis air units were out in force engaging in many intercept missions on both land under Axis control and over the Southern ligurian Sea as enemy flights headed up along Coastal waters to recon the Tuscanny region.

Allied attacks on the Axis line once again begin in earnest the enemy concentrating on specific sectors hoping to cause a breach in an effort to force our troops to withdraw from the defence line, the coastal town of Grazzanise is again one of the main objectives of The Allies, the town defended by 5th Pz Armee units has seen some of the heaviest fighting. The Allies are also attempting to force passage over Apennine Mountains which is defended by units from three ArmeeKorps, the enemies central attack which is concentrating on breaking our line South of Isernia with a direct armoured assaults from the town of Campobasso a breakthrough could have the enemy turning Northeast or Southeast and cutting supply lines, Termoli on the Adriatic coast is another key target for The Allies, the town defended by over 20,000 Axis troops however our forces are facing four times as many enemy troops.
The situation has become more grave as Aerial recon and coastal observers have now detected a large Naval force off the coast of Termoli, Axis forces are now on high alert as its believed there may be a beach invasion behind our lines.
At Grazzanise Von Arnim's forces repel an assault by two Allied Corps
A second attempt by Bradley also fails.
On the Volturno line the Allies begin with a three pronged attack against the Mountain top defenders which is held.

OKH Command
9th Armee and both 7th and 12th Panzer Div's complete the destruction of the trapped Soviet forces, Brandenberger now orders his Armee to reinforce the front and awaits further orders, the lead units begin to arrive Lemelsen is ordered to disengage his Panzer's and begin redeploying to Tambov.

The battle in the Southern sector dies down as Soviet forces fail to make a breakthrough leaving the six remaining enemy Tank and Inf Corps trapped our lines to strong for the Red Army to breach.
While there is still a large concentration of enemy units close to the front lines, the enemies " Polkovodets Rumyantsev " offensive seems to be over having failed in its objectives.
The two Axis Counteroffensives ( Fridericus III and Wilhelm II ) achieving a decisive effect on the outcome for the Axis victory.

In The Caucasus the enemy launches a number of attacks which force some units to pull back but for the most part the line is holding and enemy forces fail to open any of the pockets, despite the conditions and constant lack of supplies the troops on the ground are still in high spirits after hearing the news about the Ostheer victory on the central front. The weather is getting better and more reinforcements will be arriving to bolster the defences.

The weather in Southern Europe not quite as bad as in the West, The Allies were able to mount air operations, operating from bases on Corsica and Sardinia enemy recon flights we conducted on Rome and North of the Italian Capital against Axis air bases in the Umbria and Tuscany regions, Axis air units launched numerous intercept missions out at see but were unable to stop all enemy flights.
On the front line the enemy was back in force striking at ground units and Command centres, damage was minimal due to the weather conditions and the presence of our air units engaging enemy bombers.

After reviewing the reports of possible seaborne landings by Allied Naval forces off the coast of Termoli Gen Zeitzler orders two regiments of the 15th Panzer Div to mobilise and redeploy to the Adriatic coast North of Vasto the Division had been covering the beaches Southwest of Rome in case of a naval invasion to capture the Italian Capital, the 242nd Inf which was refitting west of Pascara moved South and into the town of Vasto itself setting up defensive positions for a possible seaborne attack there, the 90th Pz Gren refitting at Pascara also began full mobilisation and started preparing for any amphibious invasions.
As Axis units began to deploy to counter any possible assault aerial reconnaissance reported that in fact enemy units were being loaded on to transport ships, while this would seem like good news in the short term as there was no major fighting along the front, the withdrawal of Allied forces from the Italian front will be a cause of concern for German Supreme Command.
In Northern Italy General Thomas-Emil von Wickede's German ligurian Armee has now become operational, the Command will take over control of the Northern forces allowing 14th Armee to move South and support both 5th Pz Armee and 10th Armee operations.
