I am sure during these sweeps the phrase the Rufe, the Rufe, the Rufe is on fire is heard.

The 8th has arrived!!

Speaking of Rufes, don't those upgrade to A6M5 at least? [:D]

Not sure Lowpe, I would have to go back and check but it is really quite academic now.

Even the key bases are down to about 30K so I will be fighting with sticks and stones in the next two weeks. [:(]

The 8th ha arrived and they do look pretty in their colours.

I actually like the Rex for low CAP. And flying from dots.

You're in Sept 45!!! Amazing!

Any jets on the way? Or other fun stuff? What's the report from past historical? Worth it? [:)]

The issue now is that air strikes on bases chew up so much supply... [:(]

hi Obvert, unfortunately no fun stuff on the way [:(]

There are still a number of strong posiitons on the Home Islands causing Mike grief but they are rapidly becoming paper tigers due to losses and more importantly, lack of supply.

Amazingly CAP across central Japan is still very strong and continues to score even against Sweeps. The Frank R has been the most critical airframe for the Empire to ensure the game does not completely break down and become a slaughter.

Just about the end of Sept 45 now and have hit 90K in VPs. I would give this game another 30 days and then surely I would have to be toast [:)]

The end is nigh mid October 45

Key positions continue to fall under an avalanche of air attacks and BB bombardments.

Hastening the fall now is the lack of supplies which is having a huge impact on the land battles. Despite being obsolete, Japanese weapon systems can still draw blood and hence points continued to be accumulated.

My target was 80K VPs and happy to report it is now over 90K. About 20 days left of combat but effective, organised resistance has largely broken down outside of some stubborn pockets which refuse to yield.

Also Mike has undertaken a clever flank move which will likely see the Soviets and Americans link up in central Japan. All reserves have already been committed and spent so there is really nothing stopping the Soviets from collapsing my flank.

Thanks guys it has been a wonderful journey with a wonderful opponent.

The entire USN has just appeared outside Yokohama no doubt to nail the final stake through the Empire's heart.

Plenty of digital sake is drank as thousands of pilots rush off to join their ancestors and remnants of the IJN sortie forth.

If he stays in the same hex (which is highly unlikely) I am fairly certain he will regret it [;)]

How are your ship losses so low? Is your whole navy bottled up at Yokohama, including merchant ships?

If he didn't build many, then it looks about right. I can almost turn off my MSY as IJ except for the CVE's and mine ships...

Well the fat lady is singing.

Supply has run out except for 3 bases on the Home Islands. Tokyo is out cold and the whole air defence network which has put up a sterling performance has literally collapsed. About 150 Japanese merchant ships have been sent to the bottom of the ocean in three days, as the slaughter commences in earnest.

There is no where to run or hide but stand in place and take it on the chin[:D] ( I was going to use another analogy but I don't think it is appropriate on our G rated forum.

I am still laying claim to the bloodiest PBEM in history though!!!!

The Emperor will no doubt make his nation wide address tomorrow.

To illustrate the scale of punishment being meted out, in 12 days Mike has whacked on 14K VP now that the skies are largely clear. [X(]
