Getting some practical experience with off map movement. Rookie stuff for most AFBs.

Nice to see shakedown cruises working off map.

Please don't take this post the wrong way. It is not statistical proof. It is a working assumption.

I know all the caveats, sample size, conflating variables, and I am far too lazy to attempt anything serious...so take this with a huge grain of salt.

I am not here to prove anything to you, nor do I want to...but for your consideration:

Nimitz is now in charge at Pearl...no other leadership changes made. I should clarify that Nimitz is in charge of the Command HQ at Pearl.[;)]

Can you clarify a bit more Lowpe? If leadership does not help training, are you suggesting that another trait helps more? Admin perhaps?

Trying to finish off the turn and a power blip caused me to lose about 45 minutes...argh. I remember now why I liked doing the turns on a laptop.[:)]

Get an Auxillery Power Supply.

Are your fighters in training flying at 1000 feet?

Counterattack and destroy the Kanno Det., as I recall it is highly trained and part of the 48th Division.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

China has very little refinery capacity that the oil can flow to. No point sending oil there - they produce about as much as their refinery capacity, unless that changed in this mod.

Allied Codebreakers are just simple cheats....Japan foolishly changes prep for Mauban. Let us see what the Boise can do under a new Captain!

Also picked up the Wake Island invasion force I guess...

Looks like reinforcements headed to Iba...dare I attack? Nothing ventured nothing gained!

Well, I hadn't checked yet, but if Urumchi gets cut off? Lanchow and Sian.

Anyhow, I think I might like it in China than Burma.

China

I checked and BB is right about the oil...overall a slight surplus, but oil cannot be bombed out once pumped. So if the IJ bomb the oil to stop the refineries, I would have a small cushion to draw from if I can get oil to flow from Burma to China.

Once the fuel is gone, that is about half of China's daily supply generation.

I always thought that a higher aggression would be like "Damn the torpedoes, FULL SPEED AHEAD!"

Whereas a lower aggression would mean something like "feminine courage" per Thomas Hobbes in reference to a man.

This is from an old thread...for your consideration, you might recognize the posters you oldtimers:

Would be curious to see if Leader - Admin skill has any impact as well...

Actually I tested with an enhanced Tracker version taking account of the groups experience levels in the various categories; testing alt, range, leaders, exp etc etc ...

And nothing made much of a difference ... that is to say that within the statistical +/- 2% nothing was gained ...It's a pity really.

And from the Pilot Addendum, which is also quite old:

7. Training
Skill and experience training has been changed slightly. They both increase
incrementally.

Points are accumulated for each skill/experience and once a certain level is reached, a
point is added to the actual skill/experience level.

The cutover level is based on the current skill/experience level with some randomness
thrown in. So as the skill/experience level increases, it takes more accumulated points
to reach the next level.

Combat gains points faster than straight training, and combat is generally required to
reach 70+ skill/experience levels.

Experience levels behave like skill levels with the one exception.
If the Experience level is higher than the best skill by more than 5, then a skill, based
on the group’s mission, might gains the accumulated points instead.

Groups can fly normal Training missions (with a training percent) which occur in the
AM and PM air phases. These gain both skill and experience points.

Groups will also gain skill and experience (after passing a training check against the
training percent of the group) at the end of each day:
1. if the pilot’s experience is less 50 (plus pilot’s missions and kills) and less
than the overall group experience level
2. if the pilot’s experience is less 50 (plus pilot’s missions and kills) and less
than the leader’s skill
3. if pilot is in a dedicated Training group with some Instructors (adds higher
increments to accumulators)
4. if pilot is in a dedicated Training group without Instructors (higher success
and slightly higher increments than a normal group)
5. if pilot is in a group with some training percent (number of veteran pilots
(experience of 80+) increases chance of successful training)

And from Alfred, perhaps my favorite:

(a) leader qualities are a matrix. Do not assume leadership is the only relevant one here.

Damian is one of the two developers of the third party app Tracker. As the Tracker devs were given some inside information re the game code, they were required to sign Non -Disclosure Agreements.

Ah yes, one of my better Zen like pronouncements. Would have been improved even further had I added "let the force guide you".
