Re: The Wildfire Spreads (5-player game)
Do we have an opinion on whether it should be allowed to setup minor country units on frozen lake hexes, or not?
MWIF allows it, and I think the rules allows it as well. However, just because it is allowed does not mean that it should be used.
Thoughts?
Edit: The picture is an example, and does not reflect the actual Finnish setup.

No issues with me. The game also allows more than half a minor country allied units like Finland to leave their home country so be mindful to manage the number that do leave the country.Orm wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 4:10 pm Do we have an opinion on whether it should be allowed to setup minor country units on frozen lake hexes, or not?

Ok. I wondered if setting units up on a frozen sea could be felt as a bit gamey. But since none have issues with it then that is settled.Majorball68 wrote: Sun Mar 15, 2026 6:03 pmNo issues with me. I think the game handles minor country units leaving their homeland correctly. Do not recall seeing any issues there,
Although the rule, and game, actually allows more than half the unit to leave. It is half of the on map units plus one that can leave.
Cut from RAC: 19.4 Minor country units
....
Restrictions on use
Minor country units can move and fight outside their home country. However, you can only move a minor
country land or aircraft unit from inside the home country to outside the home country, if half or more of its on- map
land and aircraft units are currently inside its home country (exception: Rumania becomes a full Axis ally ~ see
19.6.2).

Yes. Tomorrow, I think.
Although, it would help knowing if US entry or partisans affects the Axis instructions.
