sort of.

Bultwaddle was Bullwinkle's smarter cousin who nevertheless, developed a drug habit and ended up in Sing Sing prison. Moose and Squirrel don't like to talk about it much.

He had on mind "j****y" which could be transcribed into English as yeah-bunny. Very vulgar version of "sexually abused".

horsehockey.

Eh? Horsehockey is what would happen if the UK royals got it into their heads to adapt the sport of hockey with polo. That would be funny.[;)]

Admitedly I should not have fought that last battle at all.....facing 10 IJN flattops with only 2 USN CV and a CVL + 3 Brit CV's. Ah well......if only i'd have allocated more fighters for escort i would have knocked out a good number of his carriers. Next time.....just you WAIT! [:'(]

-Well, it were three USN CV´s (Saratoga, Wasp and Essex) and 11 IJN CV´s (counting Hosho). You had about 300 planes against my 550, but if you consider the relation (planes: sum of enemy CV durability) the relationship was largely favorable to Japan. In the end you lost three CV´s, but I had a CV and a CVL with moderate damage (about 40 for Shoho and Kaga). I think that such a battle in v.8.0 will result in the anihilation of two fleets, but it´s also possible that in large battles the bigger number of CAP surviving air combat will eventually result in more bombers shot down and less overall damage to fleets.

My battle with Speedy was much more even in the allocation though all 3 flatops on my part survived while his two were sunk. Thats the good news for me. The bad news....is that Shokaku and Zuikaku were both crippled and will be out for at least 8 months with 70ish SYS damage (and a long perilous trip back to Japan) Shoho will probably out for 4-6 months. Had i been hit with 1000LB bombs or any torpedoes, I would have lost at least one CV i'm sure.

-Alternatively you could try to repair them in Truk, at least until they are able to survive the trip back. In our game, I kept Sho at Truk until her sys decreased to 45 and the sent it back to Japan, of course, this would have eventually resulted in one year of repairs but I didn´t lose her. I think that if the enemy had 1000lb bombs you would have lost the three CV´s.

I don't know how easy it would be to program multiple TF raids. I suspect it would require some major reprogramming.

Chez

Actually it's already in there - it just doesn't happen all the time. But there is code both to break up large strikes (mostly due to range) and also to combine strikes together (under certain limited conditions). It's all there.

i'd have done better even in the older version had i had more fighters on escort. I ran one version of the game after we closed where i had a much much larger escort and they shot down a near equal # of your CAP fighters but best of all......the bombers, not nearly as harrased by CAP attacks scored quintiple the hits and hit over half the carriers, badly damaging 2.

Dont worry....Shok and Zuik are safely repair at........

-It makes sense....what were the badly damaged carriers and what happened with your CV´s as you had less escorts? Was the British CV damaged too????[:D]

I didn't take the save far enough to acess their fate, but given the distance from Rabaul/Truk, it would have been dicey. The USN carriers took a beating in most of them as well.....avg 2 of 3 sank. Not suprising given the huge raids sent against them. Like i said, it was a battle i should not have accepted though a mutual exchange would have been worth it i suppose. It did eliminate the threat of KB for a while thx to the plane losses further assuring Lunga's security.
