Japan Summer 1943

A quick headcount reveals that most of the Allied carriers are busy smacking around my German allies. Still, with only limited supplies and plenty of US FTRs in the neighborhood only limited damage (2 BB's destroyed) can be done. Most disappointing.

A spoiling attack on Changsha yeilds annoyingly good results, as we take the province with after attacking with only a 2% chance of success. The question now is whether to invest in garrisoning my new conquest or retreat having reduced the Chinese army to nothing. Either way it'll cost supplies that could be better used sinking (or at least shooting at) US transports.

Russia/China Summer 43

First battle of Kiev went terrible.
My 10 arty vs his 7, I lost 7 he lost 2.
I rolled constant bombard evasion 1s and 2s while he rolled 6s and 7s.
My infantry only rolled good (28 or more) against milita grrrrrrrrr.......
Oh well, there luck cant hold forever.

Taking Finland and Persia has cut down the German Production a little.
China suffered last turn from a major Jap offensive but at least it ties up Jap troops and supply.

Japan Fall '43
The US is pursuing a strong "Germany First" strategy, concentrating his airpower and carriers against Phil. Unfortunately, the weak Japanese start and our misguided adventure in Russia keep us from really taking advantage. At least we've backed the Russians off for a turn or two. However, without the resource base we'd normally have at this point Japan's long term future is precarious to say the least.

Russia China Fall43

Ok I have finally got a handle on my moving situation and its time to play some AWD.

Russians take another step toward Berlin in the North reclaiming some undefended lands.
Southern Persia has been convinced to stop supporting Jerry.
Oil fields in Romainia are hit from the air again.

Turn sent to Western Allies.

Allies forces are getting quite strong, inspite of the fact that Cairo and Gibraltar are still in German hands...

Good news is the luftwaffe is pounded, with only 4 fighters, 1 HB and 1 TB ready for battle next turn, while the Wallies have 15+ fighters ready for action in Europe. The Luftwaffe will probably not present any further challenge to allied air power, which is growing even stronger. In Sp44, I should be ready for DDay with a number of troops to play around with. Allied amphib transport is at 5, so realistic invasions are possible all along the west coast. Japan is shrunk to it's eastern Chinese provinces and Manchuria/Korea, production is at 12.

Winter 1944:

Germany:

At least no D-Day during Winter but next turn will be hard. The Allies and Russia are master of the skies on both fronts. The Italian navy is sunk as soon as produced :-( so Egypt will not last long anymore.

Now it's not a matter of if Germany will surrender but when and we will still do our best to delay what looks like the inevitable now. US production makes a huge difference.

Russia China Winter44

Not much action on the ground.
Air Force gets plenty of practice time in the air.
6 fighters sent in to hit one tac bomber group on the ground come up with zero hits.
German rail lines are not as fortunate.

SS shows a very undefended Berlin

Spring 1944:

Sorry for the delay but there was an allied hardware attack on our German computer [:(]

Germany:

Spain is invaded which is bad news, Russian forces are to strong now to make a stand in the East which is worst news. The Kriegsmaring did a last run in the Atlantic sinking undefended convoys [:D] better than being bombed at home.

The 3rd Reich is crumbling but we are confident in the Final Victory of course [&:]

Japan Spring 44

Oops. Following the attack on Phil's computer the Allies somehow rerouted his email to my junk folder. Clever, those Ultra boys.

Japan has few options available to her. Short on supplies and plagued by super bombers and 4 EV (!!) subs we can only play for time. A sub is destroyed (when attacked by the entire Japanese fleet) and the supply lines to the hinterland (ie China) are kept open. But probably not for long.

Russia/China Spring 1944

Norway is liberated from the Elite German troops stationed there in a marvoulous movement of milita/ partisans/ and woman who just could not take another day under German Rule!
The Elite German troops are utterly destroyed with no survivers living to tell the story.

In other news it has been confirmed that German Flak Gunners are the best trained and most brutally accurate troops in the German army.

Only a matter of time before the once proud German Nation falls from grace.

Summer 1944:

Germany:

What a shame, after holding in our grasp most of Europe and hanging Churchill we are barely capable of holding to a few strips of lands here and there. Retreat continues [:(]

Japan Summer 1944

I can only echo Phil's sentiments. Proof positive that you can take England and still lose the game. The Japanese cling to the home islands as well. The Russians seem content to build up slowly in Siberia, but more and more US carriers are appearing in our waters.

In a large but mainly anticlimactic series of carrier battles the greatly out-teched Japanese CAGs are wiped from the sky. Better Japanese land based FTRs fare better, and the Allies lose a couple of carriers as well as their own share of CAGs, but an equal battle of attrition is basically a defeat for Japan at this point.

Summer44 Rus/China

The Russians continue there slow march to Berlin.
But the big news is seeing the Chineese go on the War Path getting some delicious revenge and winning a major battle against the Japs in Changsha.

Fall 1944:

Germany:

Looks like the 3rd Reich could fall 1 turn before the historical date. What went wrong??? [:(]

Nice counterattack in Western France and we are still holding Italy but the Eastern Front is crumbling. We will welcome the new Slavs master race against Capitalist oppression. Maybe Stalin will see the light and push those back to North America.

Japan Fall 1944

The Japanese can only cling to their meagre empire and hope that the Germans keep the Allies busy for a few more turns. This screenshot was meant to show the balance of power in Siberia, but I messed it up. At least you can see the Russians. Japan has roughly the same number of troops, but backed by aircraft.

The only offensive action taken this turn was to bomb the Russian rail behind their lines. If I had been thinking more clearly I'd have been doing this for some time now.
