Reading through the press-release I didn't find anything specifically about fixing the over-bloody aircombat.
Does anybody know if this will be addressed?

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Whipple

July 20th sounds like a good release date. Not only is it my B-Day, but we can all think about the moon landing aniversery while climbing up that learning cliff this sucker is gonna have! Bring on my parachute, cause my money is as good as spent on it!

Or as you nucs out there would understand: I'm latchin and snatchin!

Whipple

Please do not spread "false" info... [;)] everyone knows that landing was on the 20th but moonwalk was on 21st... I should be privy of that info... [:)]

The release does mention something about taming the UberCAP...

[:)] Well ,what do you think , guys?[:)]

It's certainly worth looking at, but Ad Ed is an add-on/enhancement to the original, which still sells for around $70; so are we talking a one-time investment for new WitP customers at around $150 or more?

Well, perhaps this is why Matrix ran that AI poll; does anyone think we will be getting a better WitP AI, or the same scripted moves in a better package?

I don't mean to be pessimistic, just realistic.

I dont care what it cost I paid 80 bucks for WITP but would have paid twice that for the amount of entertainment it has brought me.[:)]

I hope they offer a nice price break for owners of WITP 1...

I can't afford another $100 game anytime soon...

I also own WPO...how about a "double coupon" day?

Let's see...... about 6 months or so before it's released........ that's about $4 a week and there's your $100.

I like the way you're thinking, but I'm averaging a weekly loss of $-25!!!

I’ve got a better chance of pulling a rabbit out of my ass that saving $100+ for a new computer game…sorry, it’s a “computer generated, highly detailed, grand strategy war simulation of World War II Pacific Theater of Operations.”

Just FYI, the AI poll was unrelated to the release plan of WITP AE.

I'm curious, how did you come to $150.00? I was unaware pricing for the addOn package had been announced.

Or is this just your personal estimate?

No matter how much is put in... people always want more.

Keep in mind, all this costs in terms of processing speed... if people got everything they asked for, you'd have to get a supercomputer to get it to run...

This type of tools has already been developed for WIP by players skilled in informatics. (ex Bodhi utility or WIP decoder) Nevertheless it was very complex to implement this module in the WIP system. It should not be too difficult for the Matrix informatician team to take these ideas and to make something completly integrated to the whole system.

No price has been announced yet, but that hasn't stopped people from guessing. You won't get a price announcement until we are MUCH closer to release.

Sorry - I just don't think I can go through WitP again.  For all the fun I had with it, I spent 2 years playing out the first 5 months of the war, only to restart over with each major patch.

Also, for me at least, the one thing that needed the most improvement was not touched - the interface.  WitP has one of the worst UI's conceiveable, made worse by the fact that it only ran in 1024x768 and had miniature buttons.

Unless I come back here and see nothing but unbridled praise, I'll stay elsewhere.

BTW, I love WitP despite its' shortcomings.  It was just too tedious.

Maybe its a dream but I can hope Matrix goes forward with Super Top Secret Plan to give a discount for users whose great grand-parents came from Ireland.
