I trust you'll leave that unit alive, so that I have something left to turn back over to Vance when he comes back from his Caribbean vacation.

Oops...sorry...missed this....but would you really want that evidence left??!![:D]

Things are looking grim for the good guys. The combined Axis production is twice that of the combined Allied production. Japan still has a couple of turns left before they have to launch the Pacific Blitz, there is no winter that will save Russia, and we are direly outnumbered...[:(]

I thought you said things were bad for the good guys??!! [:D]

Japan must declare war on the US next turn tho.....that has to change things a bit....[X(]

Things continue to go ill in Russia. The five-sided concentric attack against Moscow failed. I suppose it's too much to ask a bunch of Level II troops to defeat a battle-hardened stack of Level IV's. Time to retreat again...[:(]

Turn to Japan.
While few men,legislators or otherwise,
have felt downthe years they could command ships of the line or marshall air armies without specialized training, almost
any fool has felt in his heart that he could command a regiment.

Pearl harbour is a disaster - the air attack mostly gets shot down, the sea attack mostly gets sunk...there are American casualties of course....but it's not looking good for the strike force!! [X(]

Singapore, Borneo and Manila fall easily, although the Imperial armoured corps forgets that it is supposed to be a follow up force and lands first at Singapore, fighting well but eventually all drowning under a wave of pink gins!!  The landing at Brunei force picks the wrong beach and prowling Western Subs are sunk...

It seems the massive garrisons my spies saw on Borneo were just propaganda...there was almost no garrison at all.

Ok... What the hell happened in Borneo!

I spent a fortune in production from India and Australia turning Borneo int a small fortress and it all vanished when the japs attacked.
Take a look...

And after....

The history log showed attacks in only 3 hexes.
The 2 attack on the coastal cities said I only had 20 rifle there. If you look above I clearly had more than that and the landind on the beach went unopposed???? My army just diapeared.... All the rest of my forces on the island except the formations of 20 riflemen are gone. This leaves a huge hole in my pacific defense since I put such a heavy price on defending borneo.

I just exited my turn... I want to give Tom or Vic a chance to look at this.

If my army in Borneo is gone forever then so be it, But I would like to get them back if it is possible.

Yeah dude I just had something similar happen to me as well. When Japan DOW's all of the forces in NEI disappear and are replaced by a few troops on each production hex. I think this might be a good idea since it gives Japan a chance to grab some stuff rather than the rather a-historical fortress that you built. :)

Maybe, but then I would have spent all that production in India not Borneo and still have it all.

Oh I'm not trying to invalidate your bitterness at all - you're entitled to it - that was a helluva buildup on Borneo. :)

very though. it seems to me like a scenario design mistake. its the first command in the pacific blitz event thats causing the units to be wiped.

i'll give tom a sign too.

kind regards,
Vic

Thanx Tom and Vic.

@ Tom... Is a fix going to help me at all in the game I have going?

Probably I will just have to suck this one up.

@ jjdenver. No problem jj... I was just a little shocked to see all my hard work in Borneo go down the drain. It just needed to sink in a little. I'm not so upset anymore.

Not Tom, but the fix will only affect games started with the new version of the scenario file.

You could suck it up, or we could take the opportunity to surrender with honor. I'm good with whatever decision you make, and will fight to the bitter end, if you wish.

And I was surprised to see all those forces not there - it was why I diverted most of the Pacific fleet to SE Asia instead of Pearl Harbour to try to overcome them.......

Allies have had a rough go of it. Spain going axis, China lost, Moscow captured, and now Borneo army lost.

Perhaps an ally surender is in order.
