Again a very bad turn for Russia.
My center defense is broken and has to move back.

My attack at Helsinki failed cause some officers defended too well with their pistols.
Maikop was reenforced in time and i´ll not be able to take it.
And the Germans advance on Baku from north.

My army is beaten already and the 1942 offensive turns did not start yet.

@Vorsteher
I hope you follow this thread. It´s the scenario where the germans never win [;)]

This turn i only show the strategic map and casualities. Russian forces where everywhere overrun through combined arms or because they were lacking supply (crimea).

Unless a miracle happens next turn Baku should fall. Together with the soon beginning Fall Blau this should mean an axis victory in Summer 42.

Casualities have been high again for the russians.

<10k production points for the germans, 68,5k for the russians. Roughly one turns production. Only minor annoyance is that next turn Finland will fall.

I surrendered. my army is beaten and the axis combat advantage is coming.
Boron played great and played without mistakes. At least no bigger ones.
I had no chance most of the time even to set successful attacks.

We´ll go for a rematch. Want to make it better this time.

Here some detail screens of the final situation.
Boron is right, Baku would fall in the next 1-2 turns = end of my southern forces.

Has been a great match, i can only think of one potential mistake seille made, otherwise he played excellent.
The potential mistake might have been that seille tried to defend too much forward around kiev and orsha.
So Seille rarely had enough forces to effectively counterattack since i did beat most of his turnly reinforcements or at least damage them so that they had low readiness. And building so many mortars was a good idea i think. Mortars + some Tanks + Infantry are good allround troops imho. I also begin to like those horses. Did never try to motorize my infantry because they are imho fast enough with the horses.

Especially when crossing Rivers (as opposed to streams). The general masterfile has an error in it, where horses do not pay a crossover cost for Rivers. For streams they pay 20 extra AP, but for Rivers they pay ZERO! In other words, rivers will not slow down completely horse mobilized units one bit. I've fixed this for my WaW mod, assigning a 40AP cost. However, every scenario relying on the generic masterfile as a basis, and which this has not been fixed by the scenario designer, it can be a rather major problem.

@James
Please post things like the missing penalty for horses crossing rivers in the support Forum so Vic can read it.
I´m sure he´ll look at and fix it if needed.
But why 40 AP penalty for rivers while streams have only 20 AP in your WaW mod ? Can´t follow this.

@Boron
Yes, that was a great game. Very Challenging. And it showed again the Germans can win here !
And yes, i made a few mistakes, but not the Orsha defense self. Maybe the unit composition there.
What happens when you build the defense to close to Moscow i just saw in my game vs. Vic.
With Artillery and plane support i broke this line and sit now in Moscow in early 1942.
So imho my decision to defend the orsha bottleneck was ok.
With Kiev or better Charkov i agree. Charkov is not to defend when the german attacker continued it´s advance fast
enough after taking Kiev.
I made some other mistakes with bigger impact on the game.

@Freeboy
Yes, it seems Boron had more luck than i had with the R&D event [:D]

I chose 40 AP, since the crossover costs for Rivers on most all SFT's is double what they are for Streams. For Horses, it is already 20 in the masterfile for Streams, so I used that as the baseline, and assumed the Zero cost was an error of omission.
