Meeting Room, Royal Palace, Vienna
The King: I have quite a few things that will have to be taken care of. First of all I have surrendered to the Turks due to pressure from every part of the population. Secondly I have come to realise that this nation does not see itself as a nation, it thinks of itself as several small kingdoms. This must be taken care of! (*) And finally, rearrange the armies, put all close to full strength divisions in two armies. We are about to counterattack the French, they are spreading thin!

The King reads the Turkish peace demands and starts to think for a while. He then starts laughing, although he is not an expert in legal matters he does not think the peace settlement will change anything.

OOC: (forgot to take screenshots this turn)
The King looks at the new military formation and decides that his offensive plans will have to wait, this month this new Corps will have to be given orders to form up with the rest of the armies. This will allow the Austrian main army to grow even larger. The French will soon see that the Austrians are far from dead, not do they fear the French in any way.

The King looks at his written orders once more, thinks about all the carnage that is bound to follow these orders then smiles. He feels it will be well worth the sacrifice of 20.000 Austrian men to kill some French troops in his name. After all, that is what the peasants are there for, to do the Kings bidding!

Main street, Vienna
The crowd is cheering as French troops are paraded through the town under the surveilance of Austrian troops, even cannons are paraded through the city. Tha bad feelings the crowd had towards their leaders just a few months ago have now changed completely, now everybody is cheering.

Well, when the target of a total war you do not pay upkeep for your armies. My reinforcement level is now at 8, my troops got alot of strength back these last few months, while the French constantly lose troops due to march attrition. I have also reformed my army a bit, 3rd Army now holds two full corps, and the 1st Army holds one full corps and one that is being filled.
My army will only improve from now on, and an arty as well as two rifle INF divisions are being formed. I will not pursue the French for now, but take a turn to reform again.

Yea, the double morale for victories is a welcome treat indeed.
As to why France would declare total war I am at a loss, it has backfired for sure. He only managed to march 3 provinces into Austria. Guerillas keep popping up in his rear.
As I stated, a big mistake on his part.

Versailles
The French ruler turns pale when he reads the surrender documents the Austrian demands him to sign.
France will have to cede Venetia and Illyria to Austria, that is bad enough, but France also needs to keep her Feudal Dues at 80 for the next 3 years, that is going to be a morale killer in the upcoming war.
The Austrians on the other hand realises that even when they get access to Venetia and Illyria they will not generate enough money to pay upkeep for their armies, so to augment their income they have allready issued a DoW on Croatia.

A terrified looking man is seen running out of the Palace...

The people gather around as a post is placed on the door of the court. A sigh runs through the people as they realise that they are now supposed to pay even more taxes than they allready do.

A state of shock and disbelief spreads throughout the Austrian armies as news spreads that 50% of the men are being discharged in an attempt to save money.
And from the Croatian border even more bad news arrive, Croatia surrendered to Turkey, leaving Austria with nothing.
Rumors has it that several pidgeon have been seen heading into and out of Vienna...

After rearranging the armies, the Austrian economy improves. The main problem now off course is that the Austrian armies are spread all over Austria and is doing Garrison duty.
Fortunately it seems that everybody is too busy playing war to attack us.

In the forest a ragged band of men are camped. From here they fight, from here they render the entire province unusable for the nation of Austria. But today the forest is silent, something is amiss. Before long, runners come into camp telling that an Austrian army is approaching, numbering 55.000 men to face the 10.000 rebels.

A group of people are seen running from Karlsbad, following them relentless is the army that just killed off 2000 of their comrades. They realise that they will be hunted down untill they are dead.

The rebels manage to hide in a forest, and many a rebel sigh in relief as the Austrian army passes by. Before long however drums and bugles can be heard. The Austrian are heading back towards the forest.
