[..]an improved combat system for the fleets and naval air planes? At least this is what I would want.

Looking at that map of Australia got me thinking.
There is NO WAY the Japs would get much further south than where you have shown them.
Land supply from the port of Darwin, would not have extended any further, as there is nothing but endless desert plains. (think north africa).
The Aus government at the time formulated the 'Brisbane Line'. Effectively suggesting the line in the sand would be 100's of Kilometers south east of Darwin.
The chances of the Jap Army surviving would have been negligible. Part of the north west of Aus. are impenetrable.
I guess my point is Australia needs to be shown as mostly desert, not plains. Supply across the continent should be difficult at best.
While you guys in Poland and U.S are freezing... Melbourne has more days of 37-39+ degrees. Central Aus is probably in the mid 40's.

I'm sitting here with my wallet out, credit card in hand, panting heavy and salivating and the mouth. My wife thinks I'm a callow troglodyte looking at 2 Japanese planes over a ship. The way I was acting she thought I was looking at a picture of Angelina Jolie. My question is When?

Thank you so much for allowing modding. I know that in TOW it really helps to make the game better.

I love Carnimod (spelling?) stuff.

In Storm over The Pacific we go even further - an enhanced editor will be attached to the game so map moding (it was almost impossible in ToW) and new scenarios creation will be a piece of cake.

Everything is looking very nice.  Any updates as far as a potential release schedule?

As far as gameplay, are we into beta testing yet?  If so, in terms of gameplay mechanics, why would a Japanese player invade the Gilberts?  Likewise, what advantage would the USA get from taking the islands back?

In other words what game mechanics dictate an importance to the Pacific island networks?

So, most probably the goal for US is to beat Japan and for Japan to beat US.
You are not going to do so if along the road there are going to be enemy bases.

I'm sorry, but please advise me.

War in the Pacfic AE sounds great but a little too much detail. Like pilots, officers. The main thing is the hours of set up and the length of each turn.

Perhaps when I retire, I will try it.

Is SOP the same but more fun due to better interface and less micro?

Despite we have limited experience with WitP, IMO a developer is the latest person to draw a comparison between games. For sure SOP is a much simpler game about the same conflict. Like ToW Storm over Pacific is a beer& pretzels game. I think a lot of players will share their opinions considering SOP when the game is released. Also (most probably) we will publish a demo to help you to make your own opinion.

Perhaps a bit more detail into the interrelationship between carrier based aviation and landbased, one vs the other?

Something that exists in the game mechanics, like size and combat values of two opposing units, one carrier vs one landbased group.

What keeps a CV from being "on station" for extended periods? Is seaborne refueling in the game mechanics? How does an isolated island receive supplies? Are there game calculations for distances from supply sources? What are those supply sources?

You know...this simple stuff. Why would the USN not await building a vast CV armada and then going strait to the Japanese home islands?
