At the start of turn 28... a cold front is announced

Elmer sure defends the city with some gusto
He broke the encirclement and pushed me back here and there. This ain't over yet

And here's how it looks at the start of turn 29. I destroyed the pockets and am ready to smash my way in the city center
Behind Moscow my units came under attack, so I started to abandon my positions there.
Meanwhile in the south I'm way passed Melitopol and near Voronezh

5 Oct 1941 - Turn 31

During my final combat round of turn 30 I pushed the last defenders out of Moscow's center, but my attackers were unable to enter the vacated hex.
This gave Elmer the opportunity to send in reinforcements. And on turn 31 he got to move first... [:@]
2 Pz Div is rushing in from the southwest to tackle Soviets crossing the canal north of the city.
I finally got pushed out of Taldom, to the very north of the canal.. I cosider plling back behind the canal befoe the winter
I still hope to enter the city before the mud season which is getting very close now.

Further south I captured Voronezh and Kharkov

And on turn 31 he got to move first...

I hate it when that happens, but at this point of the scenario it is not permanent, which means you will soon get consecutive turns of your own [:D].

12 October 1941... Beaten by the mud!!!
More than 3/4 of my formations are forced to reorganize.

My last turn didn't yield any results... several combat rounds went by but the Ruskis couldn't be driven out of Moscow.

Foreseeing the mud I started to consolidate my latest gains and fill gaps in my frontlines nationwide.
Here's how the front gets stabilized

Well, it kinda sucks, but that's all part of it and it made my assignment tougher.
In battle nasty surprises do happen.

The mud finally subsided and I'm gonna attempt a final drive to the Kremlin.
The flanks will stay where they are for the time being.

Assigned equipment on 12 November 1941
It'll be interesting to see what's gonna be left after an eventual Russian winter offensive

Here's the line-up for the latest round of Moscow mayhem. I simply cannot clear another path into the city.
Elmer's doing a great job with rotating units and having units on T reserve.
If this fails I'm gonna give up Moscow for now, cuz my central front is becoming more vulnerable for a counterstroke
