Future Directions - Data Content

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

How about releasing OOB's for a few pounds a piece....anyone think this would sell? Or OOB's and map packs?

I'm very interested in an expansion pack with HTTR scenarios. I'd be interested in COTA scenarios, too.

After that, I'd like something involving Fall Gelb or North Africa.

Definitely Eastern Front... I'd like to see the battle for Velikiye Luki, and many others, recreated in this engine.

No more COTA, please, been there, done that :-)

I'm not sure this is the right thread but I noticed the E&S information for Tank units does not have main gun performance. (ie. muzzle velocity, trajectory, penetration characteristics, Range, etc.) ... This is critical information for a tank. Its available on-line in many places. It would be nice to compare the difference between a Tiger or Panther's main armament specs vs a Sherman Firefly (or 76mm) to determine whether you have the numbers to go head to head.

Hi,
“No more COTA, please, been there, done that :-)

And that really goes for the entire Western Front....

Time for the Eastern Front for sure....

All the best,
Kip.

I am glad to hear that the scenarios from HTTR will be soon available for BftB.
The scenarios of HTTR are the ones that I am interest the most.

If other scenarios are offered for the East Front, I really hope that they will be numerous.
I will never do, and I never did, playing on the side of the Russians.

How about a "race to Berlin" scenario?

That would be a fresh scenario. One that isn´t often designed by game developers.

Would that be an option?
Would that be feasible?

We couldn't handle a three sided version - ie Germans, Soviets and the Western Allies - as the engine only supports two sides at the moment. That would need multiple commands and sides to implement. As a hypothetical scenario, it might be interesting though.

This is really very sad.

The more I think about it, the better a Berlin scenario would please me.
Even on a hypothetical scenario, I would look forward to.

Quote from a German officer, May 1945:
"Berlin as frontier city is immensely practical.
You may move from the eastern front directly on the western Front by subway. "

I wouldn't say it isn't practical at all, you just couldn't have a 3 player team at the same time.

Just add the Russian estabs to the British and US estabs and go for it!

Hello,
My first post after buying BFTB [:D]
My wishes:
1. I'd love to see Normandy/Overlord/Cobra/Falaise expansion (I'd pay what you ask[&o])
2. HTTR scenarios (but I'd not pay full price for them, a few $ would be ok, but not something like 50$).
3. I know it is probably just a dream but I'd love to see standalone or expansion game covering Eastern Front operations in 44-45 (Belarus/Ukraine, Kurland, Poland, Pommernstellung, Bagration, Berlin Operation, maybe some Budapest/Hungary battles) - I've never seen any good wargame covering this period of WWII (except PBM scenarios for TOAW and two games from HPS I do not like best).

Regards,
Jacek

Hello:
Wondering if a decision will be made soon on the next module? Putting in my 2c for the east front. But something like Veritable would be nice. I played it as a CG in ASL.

Preferably Eastern Front for me. How about Hungary 1945?

No Normandy or Sicily please, as those are rather bland from Axis pov, and for Pacific theatre we got WitP already.

I think this game would be a BIG difference from WitP ... which doesn't have a delegation ability, as well as a lackluster land combat model. I would love to play an operational level Guadalcanal scenario with the 1st Marine Division, as well as many of the island campaigns. I don't know if Germany would be TOO boring ... the Mortain fight alone nearly cut the U.S. Army in half right after Operation Cobra.

I would also LOVE to see a game like this set in Vietnam. I think that Vietnam lends itself well to this type of game and is also only lightly touched on in the computer gaming world. There isn't a single solely-Vietnam-era game in the Matrix catalog. I own Squad Battles: Vietnam and it's alright, but a little lacking, IMHO.

A further option would be to develop a set of east front estabs so we could cover a plethora of east front battles. Again it may be worth while separating this into early war years 1941/42/43 and later war years 44/45.

I am in love with this idea.
