Lots of ground combat today. Only one battle went against me in a big way.

China
In the North, He has put 2 Divisions deep into my territory to a point 2 hexes east of Sian. I think my strategy here is going to have to be to cut off his supply line and weaken those divisions. He attempted to shock attack my troops in the woods north of Nanyang with a different set of forces. I'm surprised that he has more AV here, but pleased that my troops faired well even under 1 to 1 odds.

In the South, I shock attacked Amoy in the hopes of getting a lucky roll and winning it before his reinforcements came. I knew it would be cutting it close and that there was a possibility that they would arrive on the day that I attacked. They did. I lost 46 squads as a result. These troops will be sitting tight until reinforcements can come over from Chaochow. In Swatow, he tried to shock attack my forces just as they are retreating out of town. He suffered roughly 3x the casualties I did.

I'm not doing very well in China.

Burma
He attempted a shock attack in 56,54 (the hex across the river and immediately north of Moulmein). I'm not sure if this was a planned attack or the result of his crossing more units. In either case, he has about 100 more AV than I do here. Thankfully, I got a great roll on this and disabled 114 of his squads to my 25. That's not going to help long-term, but it slows him up a bit.

Malaya
His troops still haven't left Kuala Lampur. He's taking a looong time to get to Singapore.

DEI
Bombardment and invasion of Cocos Island. I didn't see this coming (no search planes), so I might lose my AS there as a result. He has about 50% more AV here and that is reflected in the odds, however, the actual results favored me this time. I expect I'll lose it tomorrow.

Heavy bombing of Koepang. The end is near.

SOPAC
What appears to be invasion forces have been spotted around Guadalcanal. Still no move on Port Moresby. I need about a week respite there in order to get my convoy over from the Darwin area and unloaded.

My SCTFs out of Brisbane need a couple more days and then we'll be ready to rock n'roll again.

CENPAC
KB1 chases wounded cruisers. DD Cunningham, still ablaze from yesterday's shellacking, charges after them. KB1 commander chooses to engage the fiery demon to his SW instead of the cruisers to his north. Cruisers escape for another day.

At Pearl, I will be moving a CA and at least 2 BBs to the west coast escorted by ships that will ultimately join Yorktown in San Diego.

Just got back from a week's vacation (early, thanks to Hurricane Isaac).
