RE: Overlord I - Day 15
On cloudy days, still run a few "annoying" raids or limited recce to keep the Luftwaffe pilots in their cockpits and increasing or not lowering their fatigue and maybe losing a few aircraft on landing.
A thought about setting courses, I think at some point it was mentioned to have the last navigation point as close as possible to the target and using a geographical landmark if possible. Something about the pilots having less chance to get lost.

JeffK, Do you mean the initial point should be near another target so the pilot can get a bearing off that.
I did run a few quick recons, only about 3. After what you say I think I will be using the mediums from now on on heavy cloud days.
Thing I noticed the other day is that the german have moved a lot of Heavy AA to the troops along the normandy coast. He is damaging a lot of planes when I attack them. I may have to move targets for a few days and smack a few more airfields and try and get him to move some back to those.

Yes, make the IP close to the target so that there is less chance of getting lost. I also recall that if the coastline was the IP you increase the chance of it being found.
I would maybe prefer Light Bombers/Fighter Bombers in cloudy weather, and you can choose irrelevant targets, its more about keeping the Luftwaffe on its toes.

Here is one of my targets for the day.
With it's supply line marked I want to see how hard it is to kill armour as these will be my main target once the ground war starts.

Overlord I - Day 16
Day 16:
Going back to paris down the one stream, This time trying to hit the normandy side.
Today I have 3 FS providing extra cover, There paths should clear any patroling fighters out of the way and then add a bit of protection. I expect most fighters to come from the driction of the white arrows. Fighter from paris my bomber escorts will have to deal with. When the start home they will retreat back down along the bomber stream.
BC sterlings will bomb inf at night

The 17th I will be sending every body up into belgium and hit every thing I can

For today I even have some night intruders making a wall for Bomber Command
There are 3 must hit raids today orleans rail, Chateaudun PRI AF and Chartres PRI AF
The air field between them hold about 200 planes currently and as I keep saying I want to push them back to the other side of the river

Mission report:
Everything that could go wrong today did raids got seperated from their escorts
The mauraders take a pounding miss the target altogeather and then get chased down by the planes they just bombed while their escorts watch.
Heavey AA is making a mess of my planes at least half my bombers will not be flying on the 19th

Overlord I - Day 18
AC Lost:
18 Marauder's. Up till now I had lost only ten. Tricqueville had 37 HAA and the Marauders could not get high enough to get above the AA (My Mistake). Needless to say it will be a few days before they are back in the air. All took massive morale hits. Most are below 50% now will need to be more selective with there targets from now on as HAA is becoming a major problem. My Opponent is moving HAA to most troops and airfields. By the time the 1st June comes along and I go all out on troops I can expect to have at least half my airforce down with some kind of damage.
Stupid p-38J lightnings on a FS decided to take on one of the most well defended airfields, 10 planes taking damage every attack run and the damaged planes limpimg back get shot down by roving enemy planes. Good thing is they still managed to kill about 15 enemy fighters.

At the moment points are running at a 300pt defecit. I hope that after the invasion that Area Captured point will start to kick in big time as I am running out of Target Damage targets that are easy to hit.
