FW Heinrich has reported they have sunk some kind rickicky old raft[hope it was empty]! The northern section is just about cleared of infantry! We have started our puh south! For some reason t34s mortar girls have stopped sending us their love?? he he:D :p

We're dipping our feet in the Volga at three places now. The Grain Silo has fallen, and we're taking the Beer Factory next turn. YAY! Two HMG's on the Volga river bank are exterminated, and we also kill a bunker, although we really didn't have to. Well, it gave the boys something to shoot at. :p

My men have gone to hand signals due to deafness from the continuous German artillery shelling

I still hold in strength the southern factory...and Doom will play hell to take it! I will need to make my much anticipated human wave charge within a turn or two..I have massed such a mammoth force I fear they will be spotted soon...for now however I weep for my fallen men..they died well my friends...as we all will for the Mother-Land!

Olga and her girls are back in action...as 107 and 120mm rounds fall all over Bels "Southerners" as for Doom...he is running into a brick wall..

FREE RUSSIAN BEER FOR EVERYONE!

On this day, the glorious German army has liberated the (deserted) Stalingrad Beer Factory from the corrupt communists! *psshht* *gulp..gulp...aahhhh*

More clearing operations everywhere. Yet another pillbox bites the dust, along with its crew. HE-LLO FLAME TANKS! We take the southern ferry landing, but find it deserted.

This also means that the two-pronged attack from Train Stations #1 and #2 is complete, as both points join at the ferry landing. Flame tanks barbecue 2 squads trying to make it to safety from Station #2. Remains a few houses to be cleared, then the entire sector from the Minina suburb to the Lenin square is secured. w00t!!

As we have read propaganda leaflets left behind about a "human wave" attack coming soon, we're kinda curious about just from where? AT crews are on the lookout along the southern river bank, ready to sink whatever old raft that comes sailing across. We have come to the conclusion that if these rumors indeed are true, the assault must come from the area around the 9th of January Square.

Necessary precautions have been taken. :p

FW Heinrich has reported the fighting on the way south has been pretty light, several sov eng squads are greased, couple of routed smg squads are delt with, not much else slowly moving south to meet up with the southern command.

So up to now, it's been a walk in the park (literally!). Our intel was right - it's the 9th of January square and Pavlov's house the enemy comes from. Jessovinski makes a desperate last attempt, rushing tanks forward losing 3 of them to Pioneers but he seems to have lots where that came from. The gloves are off

Our flank guard is under a lot of pressure, trying to hold the tanks back. Relief is on it's way.

Up north, we're pleased to kill more thankyou. The linkup with Doom and the Northern command is expected to take place in no more than 2 turns. We can see them now as we both push for the oil storage.

We are headed south at a good pace ferreting out misc russian troops as we go! We have almost reached the oil fields, the recon ht is on the outskirts of it as we type! Panzers one to two turns later inf who knows,[not telling you jess].

Southern oberst if your ferry landing is empty and mine is empty, then he has moved all his ferrys to the middle landings[excuse the pun]

I've been suspecting this for the last 5 turns, as the resistance in the Train Station #2 - Univermag - Nail Factory -Lenin Square - Grain Silo area has been almost non-existent; a few bunkers and maybe a company of troops. The landings just north and east of the NKVD HQ and 9th January Square must be teeming with commies.

Bomb them out.

It's a funny enemy we're fighting. One moment, he's all around you and the next *pooof* he's gone.

Consequently, the units west of 9th January square got a very welcome pause in the fighting. That opportunity was not lost on them.

At the other side of the square, facing the river we spot tanks and some metal scrap heap bobbing around on the river. At least for now, that is. :p

Doom, we're almost at the oil storage docks.

We've cleared the last block of houses between us and the Volga. C'mon on down, we got BEER - plenty of it too!

As the day ends Col. Jessovinski knows all is lost..as he rows across the Volga on his Mortar girl..he has a feeling of pride..He gave them his best..but was over whelmed by the Germans vast numbers of Panzers..(43 Lost to his 12) and the Germans used much skill by by-passing his strongholds..as Olga tilts her head up for air..he gives her a little kick...faster dear olga..faster..we will meet again German scum..I will chase you out of the Motherland!:mad:

The battle ended in a draw after my moral broke:( but I hand the victory the Bel and Doom.. I knew I could not hold Doom when he took my only two barges out in the north,,I have 100's of troops that never entered the battle...

and when Bel started to by-pass the strong holds I knew I was in trouble..My human wave was indeed strong but I f'd up and started to fill holes when I should have waited a little longer..If Bel walked into that line it would'a scared the peecrap out of him! In the end..a great battle..loads of fun! and for me another defeat:mad:
