Turn 16

Apart from one attack against 2nd Army, none of the Soviets can even dent the Germans who simply brush past the Soviets with ease.

We are about to see a "Reverse Bagration" in the centre too.

Turn 15

The last few turns are being played out now. I have made Odessa a fortress city and placed two armies in the Crimea, but that leaves the way to Rostov open. In the centre the Soviets are down to one line of defence and so as soon as that is breached by the panzers there is no way back. Meanwhile in the north 18th Army are at Tallinn and the other two armies are about to take Pskov and march on Novgorod.

A little tip: Never try and make a stand with the Soviets [:D]

First rule when playing the Russian in ANY game covering Barbarossa, RUN!!!!

Army Group Centre

With the 'Reverse Bagration' having happened and the game effectively over, the Soviets decide to have some fun - and go on an attacking spree. Sadly this nets hardly anything - but they came close-ish [:D] to cutting off some German armoured units.

No reinforcements so the Soviets decide to go on the attack - with predictable results [:D]

Turn 19

There is nothing in Moscow - no reinforcements yet again - and the Germans are almost there. No need to panic though. The crack 50th Army are on their way. Stalin has full confidence in MajorGeneral N.V Feklenko.. and a loaded pistol just in case that confidence is mis-placed [:D]

I do not understand where I went wrong? Did I not treat the Army Generals like my own family?

Why have they failed me so? I gave MajorGeneral Feklenko one small job to do, but does he do it? I say, Feklenko, take your army and destroy the 2nd Panzergruppe. But what does he do? He fails me. I do not understand why I am surrounded by such incompetents.....

Moscow falls. All the counter-attacks I order fail. I don't understand it - these generals are useless. When my wonder weapons come on line the Germans will be sorry and the people will see....

Turn 22

I've had yet another Paranoia attack!

I order 40th Army to save the day. The plan is simple - but I suspect, with my military brain - its going to be successful.

40th Army will take move out from its starting position, taking Kursk, Kharkov and Kiev - where they will meet up with 51st and 53rd Armies operating out of the Crimea.

No wait! I've got a better idea.....

Well played as ever Ormster! One day (perhaps) you may allow me to win a wargame against you...... but I'm not holding my breath.

Orm: you should challenge Michael T. There is an AAR I would subscribe to [&o]
