Turn 3 Leningrad Forts

Forts have progressed nicely from their placement on turn 1 and 2. But doesn't look like they are going to be needed since there isn't a direct threat coming this way.... yet. I think I will build more to be on the safe side soon.

Turn 3 VL End of Turn (EoT)

Did not have a beginning of turn picture ready avail. So EoT picture will have to do. Set up ad hoc defense in front of VL.

Turn 3 Smolensk EoT

I pull back a little and keep an eye on the Gomel thrust. Action towards Gomel will have a serious lack of fuel but can be benificial if linking up with the Southern front thrusting North East to link up.

Turn 3 Kiev BoT

Brian has sliced off another chunk of my Army. (He is still doing this even up to turn 15). But the weak spot is a regiment which I should have a good chance of moving with 3-4 Division. My unit density is dwindling fast on this front. Remember I am pretty much defending everywhere on the map.

Turn 3 Kiev Front EoT

Was able to attack the armor regiment and move it. But you know the old proverb that goes on the line of, "dont throw good money after bad comes to mind before sending off this turn. Will have to wait and see. A breakthrough now would be catastrophic imo.

I am closing both of my AAR's down. I may or may not open it up from time to time on both of the AAR's to make a comment but for all practical purposes, I will not be sharing any further information on either of my two games from my perspective. Thanks to everyone for looking.

If you like to follow the game please see BrianG's AAR on our game.

I am still playing my games. I am just not sharing my side of the story in an AAR. I may or may not change my mind. But thank you.

After some contemplation the AAR continues

Turn 4 Pskov BoT

No Pskov defense here from my old AAR used in this game. I intend to give up Leningrad with a fighting withdraw dealing as much as possible in delay of turns. The Soviets pretty much can't hold a hex and if they do it is for maybe up to 3 helds. I am also defending everywhere on the map but take note I know certain areas to be German dead spots early in the game. Will try and contain any breakout with a speedy rail of reinforcements to the sector that needs help. Also all reborn infantry will be put at 45% TOE and rushed to the front in the coming turns. I do this for a couple of reasons. One 45% ToE is right at the point where the unit normally won't shatter. These units will also pretty much retreat when contacted. Lastly I use them as reinforcement for other Divisions that have good exp & morale. Thus if need I could combine two 45% ToE divisions to get a 90% ToE division. Not to mention after a few soak off attacks a division will go unready. Add one of these 45% ToE divisions to that division that went unready and WHAM the division is ready to attack again. Now there is a cost in AP's if you do this wrong ;-). BUT if you know what to do and how to do it you can do all of these upgrades for free :). I won't go into detail but it can be done 100%. Happy experimenting, I did.

Turn 4 Smolensk BoT

Mass Soviet Bombers around Smolensk. Should be able to produce 250+ bomber runs with all of them. I have to remember to stack them at the end of the turn just in case of bombing by the Germans (of course I think I forgot a 2nd time the end of turn 4 too without looking ahead at my own photos)
