You got quite a few supply hits at Norfolk Island. That will soon be a problem for the Japanese.

RE: "We want the big ones!" DBB-C vs IdahoNYer (J)
February 04/05, 1942
Highlights: Landings at Port Moresby. Air battles over Palembang and in China. Tsiaotso falls. Second invasion on Java.
Bases lost:
Japanese forces CAPTURE Tsiaotso !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Makassar !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Waingapoe !!!
Ramree Island is occupied by the Japanese
Tambelan-eilanden is occupied by the Japanese
Ships lost:
Loss of PT-20 on Feb 04, 1942 is admitted, sunk y DMS W-13 off Port Moresby
Loss of xAKL Sjobris on Feb 04, 1942 is admitted, bombed by Jakes near Terapo
Loss of xAKL Wear on Feb 04, 1942 is admitted, bombed by Kates near Cooktown
Loss of xAKL Caledon on Feb 04, 1942 is admitted, sunk by surface action off Port Moresby
Loss of xAKL Corrimal on Feb 04, 1942 is admitted, bombed by Vals near Terapo
Loss of AMc Enggano on Feb 05, 1942 is admitted, sunk by Betties near Merak
Loss of xAKL Koonda on Feb 05, 1942 is admitted, bombed by Jakes then sunk by surface action at Moresby
China:
Tsiaotso falls in the second attack, will try to reestablish a roadblock in the rough terrain on the road to Sian.
Wenchow bombed, bombarded and ground attacked again but still holds.
Flying Tigers sweeping Canton and Hankow bag a few Oscars and Nates, but losing some planes as well.
PI:
An xAKL succesfully braved the blockade of the PI to deliver supplies to Cebu for pickup and delivery to Manila by submarines. About 80% of the USN fleet sub in the PTO are busy doing supply runs to Manila.
An enemy unit has arrived in the Bataan hex, but I have no idea what it is and I'm not going to show my weakness by launching a bombardment - no supplies anyway. The Bataan garrison consists of the static coastal arty and base force plus remnants of construction units and a detachment of a PI Army regiment airlifted from the southern islands.
Manila is unmolested except by bombings and has 40k supplies left.
DEI:
While the balance of the Dutch Army pushes the lone Bn of the Japanes Eastern invasion force into a retreat, a second landing goes in at Tjepoe in Central Java with 2 SNLF and the 21st Ind. Mixed Bde. Since prospects of holding Soerabaja or Batavia or both with the forces available are very slim, a general retreat to the mountain redoubt at Bandoeng has been ordered for the last stand.
Enemy fighter sweeps over Palembang cause heavy attrition for the combined Dutch and British fighters on CAP.
The undefended / evacuated bases outside Java and Sumatra are being gobbled-up by the Japanese.
PNG:
Invasion of Port Moresby with carrier support and naval bombardment - invasion force consists of Sasebo 3rd SNLF, 144th Infantry Rgt and 65th Bde. I hope the Aussi garrison can hold - 52k supplies available which I would hate to see fall in Japanese hands.
SoPac:
B-17s hitting Norfolk Is. have encountered Zeros on CAP - but the base show no plane icon. Must be carrier-based. I'll stand down the attcks for a couple of days to fix damaged airframes.
Sigint says 5th Air Division is located at Noumea - apparently the Japanese are there to stay. Have to be careful with 17 hexes around Noumea.
Convoys resume between Tahiti and Wellington.
One full P-40 fighter group has been deployed to protect Tahiti, mines, CD guns and plenty of PBYs to provide early warning and ASW are in place.
Still not enough PPs to buy at least a regiment for the Fijis.
Housekeeping:
Enterprise and Yorktown have finished repairs at Bremerton, Sara and Lex need a few days more. A bunch of DDs have finished the first round of upgrades and will provide escort, together with the four available New Orleans class CAs. The Northampton class cruisers are still upgrading for several weeks. The Portlands and Salt Lake Cities will stay in the NorthPac, as do the Omahas and the non-DP gunned Porter class DDs. All the rest will migrate to the SoPac, for convoy escort duty.

Highlights: Midget subs fail to score at Brisbane. Paradrops on Java surprise the Dutch defenders. Netties everywhere. Wenchow holds another ground attacks.
Bases lost:
Japanese forces CAPTURE Langsa !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Horn Island !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Roti !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Malang !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Reef Islands !!!
Lashio is occupied by the Japanese
Dobo is occupied by the Japanese
Ships lost:
PC Yandra, xAKL Marudu, xAKL Lyemun sunk by Nells near Broome
AMc Lawoe sunk by Vals near Batavia
3 HDML sunk by Nells and Vals near Merak
DEI:
Palembang swept by Oscars and Zeros but CAP had two days off.
B-17s hit Bengkalis for 8 oil hits.
Netties spot and attack the remaining ABDA cruisers hovering near Oosthaven - awaiting an occasion to pounce on any invasion convoy aiming for either Western Java or Southern Sumatra - but luckily score no hits. With surprise lost and Netties galore, prospects for success are slim and all remaining surface assets have been ordered to leave the area to its fate. Some subs, HDMLs and AMcs as well as Dutch bombers remain to fight to the bitter end - less three HDML and one AMc sunk by Nells and Mini-KB's Vals. Kates from Mini-KB also bomb Soerabaya and hit freshly arrived CL Sumatra.
Japanes paratroopers capture undefended Malang but are wiped-out at Soerakarta by the local garrison. However, the Dutch troops in Eastern Java currently at Probolinggo are now cut-off and will need to fight their way out if they want to rejoin Soerabaya or the mountain redoubt at Bandoeng.
Northern Oz:
Nells hit a small convoy off Broome, sinking a PC and two xAKLs on the Perth - Darwin run.
PNG:
KB supports the invasion of Horn Islands, whose garrison has been almost completely evacuated. Slight case of overkill.

Highlights: Java a lost cause. Magwe oil bombed. Canton swept. Palembang airfield raided.
Bases lost:
Japanese forces CAPTURE Dobadura !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Duff Islands !!!
Pantar is occupied by the Japanese
Madioen is occupied by the Japanese
Ships lost:
3 HDML sunk by Mini-KB around Merak
xAP Van Swoll sunk by Mini-KB at Buitenzorg
Burma:
Blenheims bomb the oil centers at Magwe but CAP is already in place. 6 bombers lost for 4 oil hits.
China:
Wenchow bombarded once more by BBs Mutsu and Nagato. Flying Tigers sweep Canton, trading 5 Oscars for 2 H81-A3. Japanese tanks chase Chinese guerillas blocking railroads near Tsinan.
Sumatra:
Palembang visited by Sallies, 6 planes destroyed on the ground. The 4-stackers have finished upgrading at Oosthaven and are ordered to sprint to Cocos Is. and to move on to Perth.
Java:
Amphibious Assault at Kalidjati on Western Java. With half the Dutch ground forces trapped on Eastern Java and insufficient forces to defend Batavia, all units able to comply are ordered to Bandoeng in the mountains for the last stand. More HDMLs sunk by Mini-KB around Merak. Mini-KB sinks xAP Van Swoll at Buitenzorg, trying to evacuate a Dutch base force. All available Flying Boats have gathered at Cocos Is. to start the evacuation of base forces no longer needed on Java and Sumatra due to attrition of the Allied air forces. Dutch and British bombers and surviving B-17Ds from the PI bomb Japanese ground forces at Semarang and Soerabaja to help the breakout of the Eastern Java garrison.
PNG:
Port Moresby bombarded twice by 2x2 CAs with little effect. No Japanese ground attacks and ineffective Allied ground bombardments. Apparently the Japanese are waiting for reinforcements before attacking. Few Allied assets in the area, will try to airlift some elements of the AUS 4th Div to Port Moresby and ordered the B-17s from Auckland to migrate to Townsville.
New Zealand:
Norfolk Is. bombed by B-17s, Zeros on CAP losing one for 4 B-17s damaged.

February 14/15, 1942
Highlights: Amphibious Assault at Merak.
Bases lost:
Japanese forces CAPTURE Larantoeka !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Semarang !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Probolinggo !!!
Vanikoro is occupied by the Japanese
Djokjakarta is occupied by the Japanese
Ships lost:
None - nothing left to be sunk near Japanese forces
China:
Wenchow bombarded again by Mutsu and Nagato, and bombed as well. Forts are down to 0 and I am hesitating between ordering a withdrawal and do-or-die orders. The guerilla war behind Japanese lines is coming to an end. The Lusu War Area HQ and the 89th Chinese/A Corps which have been roaming around the hinterlands of Japanese-occupied China between Sinyang and Hankow looking for a way to reach friendly lines have finaly been caught and destroyed. A splinter of the Chinese 51st Corps blocking the Chengting - Anyang railroad has been hunted down by Japanese tanks and forced to retreat into the mountains, the remnants will try to rejoin friendly lines. However, another splinter of the 51st Corps is still sitting unmolested on the Tientsin - Tsinan railroad.
Burma:
Enemy recon-bombards Mandalay - will probably fall next turn as only two weak Burmese battalions remain to satisfy garrison requirements. Hurricanes from Imphal sweep Magwe 3 Oscars downed for one Hurri lost.
DEI:
Palembang bombed day and night, remaining operational fighters too few in numbers to matter. Situation on Java beyond hope. Botched operations on Eastern Java have let to the complete isolation of strong Dutch forces at Malang - which is being held by the Japanese. A desperate attack to recapture Malang has failed. The Japanese 21st Ind. Bde is testing the defenses of Soerabaya - which is being held solely by immobile base forces and coastal arty. Enemy landing at undefended Merak, the last remaining bombers bravely attacked and died in vain:
Blenheim I: 5 destroyed
139WH-3: 12 destroyed
CW-22 Falcon: 8 destroyed
Will try to evacuate the remnants of the air forces to Cocos Is. as soon as its airfield reaches level-1 next turn, where ships are waiting to load the unrestricted Brits, Oz and Kiwi units for rebuilding in the rear. The fleet of Dorniers and Cats is busy evacuating base forces and the 224 Group Air HQ from Palembang to Cocos for the same purpose.
PNG:
Port Moresby bombarded again by three cruisers, plus bombing raids. Recon arty bombardment shows no increase in enemy ground strength. I'm airlifting reinforcements from the 4th AUS Division and will try to bring some B-17 into range.

Congratulations on the rebirth of ARD Dewey! Quite a story in her career already. Long may she serve!
And also congratulations on your hits on enemy DDs. Even if they don't sink, they will be missing from the front for a long time when they are badly needed - all the better for your subs targeting bigger ships! [:)]

I am not sure. With no withdrawl date, they should but I don't know for sure - especially if they are permanently restricted. Ask Lowpe on his AAR since he withdrew some and they came back at Aden. He has a list posted of some that came back. They only way would be to load up a game and test the withdrawls and see if they come back.
