In the south the pocket is eliminated. I take Kiev and try and fail to cross the river. Odessa not yet fallen. Silly [:)].

I also note there is probably another para on the tip of Crimea peninsula so try to garrison everything in Rumania.

In the west I manage to eliminate one British corps and the Invasion now contained to 2 ports. Calais I can take Amsterdam will require a lot might be better to let it be at least until 1942.

On the central part I eliminate the Arm corps in Vitebsk. It struggled a lot and I decide to take a rest turn and dont move much. An idea starts forming in my head. A fairly historical idea actually.

Forgive me a got so excited so I forgot screenshots this turn. Here is before my moves august 29 but after Soviet moves August 15.

As can be seen I managed to recreate the Kiev pocket. My dear opponent made the same mistake as I did and stayed a turn too long.

The nasty CVs strike again. Vs fighter unit and 6 AA still hit 5 sub factors. They took a fair amount of plane damage but I am sure it is worth it.

Central part one Soviet army surrounded and destroyed otherwise securing the pocket. There will not be any relief for the pocketed I think so that will be a nice catch but will take some time to eliminate them all.

In the south a couple of paradrops. Not sure if they will do much I had some units available in the west that I transferred so there is a lot of hope I can catch some more units down here.

In general there is a bit of panic with the soviets. There are no garrisons anywhere. Not Murmansk not Leningrad not the ports in the Black sea. I take a little bit advantage of this and invade and take Sevastopol.

Again how things can quickly change. I thought with the bad weather start and all the interruptions and the fall of Finland I felt this wont work. The only silver lining I saw was that the Soviet army always felt pretty small. And now I think I might have dealt a death blow to the Soviets which might be game winning possibly. Might still take some time but 1942 wont be fun for the Soviets.

Think a good advise for all allied players when the Germans take Kiev and Smolensk beware [:)].

Oh wow. Quite the change of events. USSR will be very hard pressed to make up those losses, that is, if they can?
Nice move, have to add that to my Axis strategy book.

I dont think they can. I know from experience at the most can you produce one unit per turn (maybe 2 if you build inf corps but they are too bad) and with so much holes in the line it will be easy to eliminate a unit or two each turn so there will never be a comeback. Of course now bad weather so there will be some recovery. But at the most I am guessing soviet army at 1600 come spring and I dont think that will be enough.

I reduce the central pocket and take Moscow. Other parts of the front I continue to liberate Finland and extend beachhead in the caucasus.

After losing a whole lot of subs both because of escorts and CVs it is possible the allies have survived the worst crises.
Not over yet a 9th sub on the way and if I repair the ones I have some damage maybe still can be inflicted.

Situation as the good weather comes to an end. What a ride it has been but obviously feeling pretty pleased as things stand. Now rest the mech units and try to push teh front east where I can.

In the south the Caucasus front will hopefully cause some more Soviet headache.

I am considering building a couple of more arm corps and maybe 1 or 2 airunits as I think there is a chance for me to get the Caucasus oil this game.

Fighting comes mostly to the end. But even in rain I surround a nice 7 combat strength army outside Moscow.
I think if I could get a cold turn I maybe could surround all the units in the Tula orel Kursk sector.
