What happens to future air groups if you never put a their aircraft types into production? Let's say you build KI-44 's instead of KI-43's what happens to all of those air groups that were supposed to have KI-43s???
Mogami
Thanks, but this didn't answer my question, what happens to newly arriving airgroups if you don't build their type of aircraft. If I decide to build Ki-44's instead of Ki-43's, ok the ki-27 air groups would be able to upgrade, but what about newly arriving airgroups ones that have not been formed yet? Will future arriving air groups equip with the new producted aircraft or will they still be waiting for Ki-43s? I am concerned there maybe a issue if you change aircraft production to something non-historical due to the fixed aircraft paths.
If you disband the ki-27's would they be allowed to reform with a new aircraft type??

If I get your question right, the answer is the air group will simply sit 1 turn away forever until you have something available for them to fly that is part of their upgrade path. This is not always a bad thing ... as it keeps pilots from being assigned to useless units that you didn't want anyways. I believe it will look backwards 1 type and forwards 2 types for locating aircraft. if you have none of all 4, the group doesn't form. (don't quote me on this, as to actually cause this, we are talking about multiple years of game play).

Hi Mogami
With all the action going on in this game is there an enhancement to the combat
action to allow for pausing and replaying or continuing the action to allow for studying
the theater of operation?
The essence of military genius is to bring under
consideration all of the tendencies of the mind
and soul in combination towards the business of
war..... Karl von Clausewitz
Looks interesting. Seems like they did some nice enhancements to the game. The Combat Reports include a lot more info than UV as well, in good ways (particularly as I've read that in PBEM the combat report is 'real' while the replay may not be).
I find myself encouraged that Mogami is averaging approximately 30 minute turns. I realize that for us humans (I'm convinced Mog is Vulcan) it will take longer to process a turn, but at least this gives me hope that I will be able to play at least one turn a night...
The first turn takes the longest, depending on the amount of detail you want to sink in changing squadron's options, rebasing ships, and getting things moving the way you want them. From then whether you run single or multiday turns you'll only have real long turns when you're planning something major that takes time. For the most part once turn 1 is gone all your little plans and actions seem to spread out. TFs arrive at different times, land units take time to move depending on the terrain so you're not fighting all across the map on any given turn and not every squadron you have to go check and change it's options. Good use of the combat report and operations report should help you from having to check every base every turn.
I've found that I hit lulls in the action, where I only have to give orders in 3 or 4 areas as in the other area nothing is going on but waiting on TFs to arrive. So after playing a few times to get use to the scope and how to play, plan on the first turn taking several hrs 1 night or spead out over several days, but once you get into the flow you can get 2 to 3 turns in the same amount time depending on what's going on. At least from my experience playing the allies that is true. The Japanese have more to do early on.
