Interim SOUND PATCH (Please Read)

Well, I updated my sound/video drivers, added DirectX 9c and tried the 44khz patch and...same ol', same ol.[:(] Will try the 22 khz patch next.

Are you going to post a dxdiag report? might save you some headaches as the problem could be something other then your sound.

As soon as I can figure out how to do it. My small, woodland critter sized brain gets severely taxed by this fancy stuff. [:'(]

Now patched to 1.21, tried out both sound patches, neither of them work. In fact, I think it was more stable unpatched, it locks up almost immediately in its current state, before I could at least get through a turn.

It's definitely the sound, as when I rename the sound directory so there is no sound, it works fine.

I'm gonna download the latest updates from Microsoft and see if that fixes it now.

After a long time I started playing WitP again. I installed all patches but did forget the Soundpatch.
Is it a problem to lay the soundpatch over a 1.6 version?
Does the patch ONLY replace sounds?

Running XP pro with sp2. Patched game to 1.806. Updated all my sound and video drivers, DxDiag reports no problems DX ver 9.0c. the game plays fine apart from the total lack of sound. Soundcard is a soundblaster live 24bit
