Love to bud, but someone's already got her. If you want, see if they'd trade with you. That has been done before.

RE: Want to be a ship captain in the War Plan Orange mod?
Will there be any Canadians? DD Patriot or DD Patrician, CL Aurora ( assume she wasn't paid off given the 'threat', same for submarines CH14 and CH15) available early 20's.
A what if is refitting the worn out WW1 era CL Rainbow. (CA Niobe was too damaged by the Halifax explosion, but again you could what if)
In 1928, Patriot and Patrician were paid off and replaced by Champlain and Vancouver ( ex HMS Torbay and Toreador). HMCS Saguenay and HMCS Skeena were added in 1931.
1937 DDs Fraser and St. Laurent ( RN "C" class)
1938 Ottawa and Restigouche, plus 4 MS ( Fundy, Gaspe, Comox, Nootka)
You can assume some, none or all would 'swing' to the Pacific.

My Grand Dad was a fireman on an old flush deck destroyer. Making him the captain would be nice and show how much I miss his cool Navy stories.

I'd love to have a ship named for my grandfather actually.
His name is John H. Merkamp and should probably not be above the rank of commander (he was a youngish man). I'd suggest Leadership: 53, Inspiration: 62. Please some sort of US combat ship, even of gunboat size.
Cheers,
Rob [8D]

Is U.S.S. Pennsylvania taken?
If it is, I'd be happy with any other U.S. BB (assuming it's not too late). Best.

Just as an update to what is happening, I took a 2 day "vacation" to play some WiTP of my own, but now I am back workin full speed. I'm going to finish up the OOB work, and with luck be able to begin some alpha testing later this month. Hopefully even as early as two weeks.
Here is the plan of what is left to do:
Finish Warship OOB work
Finish Warship Graphics
Alpha Testing
Add in support ship and LCU OOB
Scenario Design
Beta Testing
Create Windows Installer
Release
I'm pretty far along in the OOB work and Graphics, shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 weeks to finish. For the Alpha testing, I am going to design small scenarios pitting 2 to 4 ships of the same type together in a naval batle, to see how they fair. This should tell me if I think a ship is too lightly armored, or if the guns work as expected. Or in the case of BCs, make sure that magazine explosions are (unfortunately) a very distinct possibility, yet don't happen all the time.
After that, I'll add in the support vessels (AS, AD, AR, AV(maybe), and LCUs. Then I will begin La Grande campaigne, one set in 1922 (predreads), the other in 1927(super dreadnoughts). Also, I want to include a number of smaller scenarios (Fight for the PI, fight for the Marianas, cruiser actions in the South Pacific), and maybe even a few "quick battle" scenarios, which will basically be small, "instant action" naval battles for a few hours enjoyment or a quickie PBEM.
Then, before release, I'll bundle it into a fancy Windows style Installer (hopefully). I know how to do it in VB, its just been a LOOOOONNNGGG time.
So guys, that's how it stands. With luck, in 4 weeks we can all be playing this. Who knows, maybe Matrix will label them "official"? That'd be sweet.

LOL. Tons left. Mostly, a few Brit ACRs and DDs, and a good number of US Dreadnoughts, ACRs, CLs, CPs, DDs, and subs. Take your pick.
