RE: War in the Pacific-Schematic Mode-The Chronology
ORIGINAL: String
if you don't like it don't play it. It's not going to be recoded anyway
It WAS recoded to deal with endless naval bombardment missions. Because the game allows massive damage by naval bombardment and the 7/11 like ability of fishing wharves to refuel and rearm naval TFs, players use naval bombardment way out of proportion to actual fact. And this is not an issue where the player is using the assets in a better way than the historical combatants, it's because the game has made naval bombardment so easy and so rewarding that it is now a major staple of game strategy. BS. Instead of dealing with the root of the problem (reducing naval bombardment effectiveness vs bases and making it necessary for TFs to refuel and rearm at bases of a minimum size and/or with naval base forces present), they decided to counter it with further excessiveness (making CD batteries from Hell).
So, I don't like this and many aspects of the game....but, I'll still play it because it has no counterpart.

STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME
South Pacific Front
-The Hornet Carrier group launch a attack the 1 over Lunga with limited success. The japanese heavy cruiser Furutaka lost one AA 25mm mount after a bomb hit from a SBD. The only hit in the entire attack.
-The 9, Kido Butai aproaches to Vanikolo and launch a heavy air attack that destroy 8 planes on ground. The damage in base was very light.
-The japanese based a Chutai of G4M1 and a Daitai of D3A Val in Tarawa to attack the allied shipping lines across the Marshalls.
-Heavy allied level bomber attacks against Port Moresby the days 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
-The allied flying fortress also bombard Lunga from Luganville the days 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28 and 31. The damage in those attacks was very light.
-The 30 a japanese surface force (RADM Aiko), with heavy cruisers Aoba, Kinugasa and Kako and four destroyers bombard Vanikolo. The damage in base was severe. 12 planes destroyed, 220 casualties and 18 holes in runway.
Burma/India Front
-Heavy dogfights and air attacks in India Sector. The japanese launch some raids against Diamond Harbour and Dacca and the British answer with attacks to Akyab.
-Beetween 8 and 12 the japanese conducts a supply convoy to Chandpur with the escort of 3rd KB Division (Soryu, Hiryu, Hosho, Unyo and Taiyo). The supplies arrives but the Taiyo and Hosho are damaged. The Taiyo was put out of action.
-The 20 the japanese repeat the supplies mission with same objetive, Chandpur. But this time the british have the new DB Vengeance I and the Soryu was hit the 27. The following day the Hosho and Unyo also get damage, critical in the former.
-Anyway, the two supplies missions allow the japanese launch a definitive attack against the allied defenses in Chandpur. The 29 the british and allies withdraws troops to Dacca.

STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME
South Pacific Front
-The japanese dive bombers based at Tarawa cause continuous problems in allied shipping lines between PH and Noumea. RADM Holmes conducts the 11/3 a surface group with battleship North Carolina, cruises Portland, Indianapolis and Northampton, light cruises Atlanta, Concord and St.Louis and destroyers Buchanan, Farenholt, Anderson and Mustin to bombard this atoll. The damage caused is very heavy, 7 planes are destroy, with more than a thounsand casualties and the airstrip was closed ten days.
-But the temporal retirement of Tarawa is not enough. The japanese form a surface group in Lunga with the cruises Aoba, Kinugasa and Kako and three destroyers and intercepts a allied convoy near Reef island the 11/25. The combat is very short and in the afternoon the allied lost four merchants and another two sinks by heavy flooding days after.
Central Pacific Front
-The japanese launch the invasion of Midway with a huge fleet that concentrate forces in Wake.
The operation, however, was a complete failure. The 11/15 the KB launch a heavy air raid against Midway with 86 DB, 93 LB escorted with 119 fighters. The allied CAP was 15 P39D and 36 P40E. In the dogfight the japanese lost 17 planes and the allies 38. Anyway, the airstrip was almost destroyed. The KB repeats the attack following day. This time only 6 allied planes respond to menace. The anphibious assault begins the 11/17. To evade heavy damage in previous operations, the japanese only use light ships and transports to expose against violent CD reaction. For this cause many AP's are sunk but only two DDs. The japanese disembark in the first wave the 22ª Ind.Bde, 87º Nav.Gd and 6º Sasebo SLF that launch a Shock attack with no success. The island is defended with the USA 111th RCT and some auxiliary units (around 23.000 troops) but is heavy fortified. The nipons lost 2.800 soldiers the first day.
The 11/21 the japanese launch the second wave to Midway with the 21ª Inf.Division. This afternoon the japanese have 22.000 troops in the beaches but no progress and a continous bombardement of the USA 152mm artillery. The losses was 300/400 by day.
The KB launch another attack the 11/22. The mission is try to break the defenders but the result is very limited. 207 casualies and 5 guns. This attacks continue the following days but the defenders do not withdraws a inch. The 11/27 the japanese situation is untenable and a evacuation is ordened. In a last sign of frustration, the 11/30 the japanese bombard the island with a surface group with battleships Nagato, Mutsu, Yamato and Ise, cruises Maya, Myoko, Suzuya and Naka and eight destroyers to cover the evacuation. The allied suffers 409 casualties and 32 planes are destroyed on land. The japanese only achieve embark the 21º division, the rest of battered forces, around 7.000 troops, surrenders. This is the worst japanese disaster to date and without allied carrier intervention.

Sorry, i can't do it. The problem is that in the japanese armament and vehicles screen, the number rate of the specific devices is ZERO, always ZERO (zero in all of them). However, the production is correct and periodicaly my units gets remplacements. I think is a game bug.
