I thought about filling this up with gratuitous posts, but then thought better of it... for a second... and then launched into this one anyway [;)]

The B17 loss thread could make it, though; it's got legs....

Yeah... Amazingly enough! You'd think this thread would have gotten much bigger by now, what with the seriousness of the subject matter. [:D]

Whaaa!

If you want to start a thread with legs, it's simple ... make the following statement!

The A6M2 was a better aircraft then the F4F-4!

Or I think a current good one (which one of my rtopics was a predecessor [;)]) is "B17 losses too heavy"

You could always try "Where are my midget subs?" [;)]

"Where are my midget subs?"

What, you don't see them? Keep looking; they're there, they are just very, very small.

"B17 losses too heavy"

Not a good thread for that as it is subjective, and based on no documented historical data so you can't really get down and argue about it as everyone is right and wrong at the same time.

btw: just as a point of interest, there is no bonus given for large raids flying in a combat box although some folks obviously think there is. 1 B-17 has exactly the same odds as 1000.

Good luck convincing some of the people on that thread of that! They seem very emotionally invested in it...[X(]
