Japs counter attack with 1 div, 23000 troops...

Post by marky »

not a large counter attack, but its still a counter attack

the 23rd will stage a fighting withdrawl, while their reinforcements march at full speed to block the japs

i expected a counter attack sumtime soon, here it is

im not worried

itll take them time to become a true threat and by that time itll be too late for them
i intend to draw them deeper into indochina, and then the main force will flank them and cut them off resulting in another 23000 jap troops to be lost to the empire...

RE: CAMRANH BAY FALLS....

Post by marky »

camranh bay has fallen..

in other news...

the 2nd marine division and other marine units are preparing for the next amphib landing in the solomons

a target has not yet been chosen but among the choices are-

Shortland
Bouganville
Green Island

deliberate attacks at canton have resulted in heavy chinese casualties

the japs are taking heavy losses in ships, troops and AC

rabaul and lae are almost completely cut off

and it is most likely that they will BOTH be bypassed...

the writing is on the wall...

the jap sun is setting....

SHORTLANDS INVASION...

Post by marky »

as u can see the next target for the marines has been chosen

Shortlands

chosen for its location and its large port size, whcih will make unloading quick and easy in the face of jap air assults

also the spotted garrison totals only around 5500 men

ther is a jap base on vella lavella, but this will be bypassed

also shortlands has been chosen because of the size of its AF

i plan to land the 2nd Marines along with seabees and other forces\

several para brigades will be in reserve and standing by to drop right onto shortland

most of the pacific fleets carriers will support the operation

saratoga remains at sydney however with 25 sys damage

even so i will have

Enterprise
Hornet
Wasp
Lexington
Yorktwon
Essex
Independence

and 6 CVEs to provide air support

plus over 200 B17s at lunga

the outcome of this operation, is already clear...

Shortland will fall...
