Yes. On one other occassion, the bold Admiral in charge of a TF from Panama to Noumea took one of these "shortcuts" but managed to negotiate the treacherous shoals and arrived without incident. It appears that this is not as good navegator. I have now ordered him back to Aden, and will check and see if he can move.[:@]

Jan 27th
In an attempt to fix the desynchronous combat report problem, this turn was executed with combat reports "off" Thus, no AAR

Enemy forces paradropped into Singapore with severe losses. Enemy forces have taken Kuantan in the East coast of Malaya. Due to the cunning paradrop into Johore Bahru, the troops at Mersing were unable to withdraw, and died "in situ" Singapore does not have the forces to withstand a lengthy siege, and is not expected to last much longer. [8|](See map) This bodes ill for Burma I fear.
Enemy forces are also landing at isolated places in the DEIs and have landed additional troops at Tassafaronga, just as reinforcements were to arrive at Lunga.[8|]
Afraid of losing additional troops, these have been deviated to a different location.
Allied carriers have reached safe harbor, and are being readied for new operations.

With combat reports still not being generated these are the outstanding facts:

Enemy forces perform a shock attack in Singapore. Due to the loss of the land forces at Mersing, only the #1 and #2 Malaya brigades remain in the city, however they repulsed the slant eyed devils, and counterattacked with heavy losses on both sides.
All naval units have left Singapore.
Enemy forces have bombarded Sangy....something or other in the NW tip of Borneo. Allied subs intercepted without effect.
To make things more catastrophic an enemy cruiser (that probably means carrier) force has been detected near Espiritu Santo, probably planning to raid Noumea. Hopefully it does not carry an invasion force with it[8|]
Adm Halsey is momentarily indisposed and has cancelled his scheduled press conference.

Allied command is in crisis mode. Enemy advances are (hopefully) slowing down now. The long distances are certainly putting a crimp on the enemy's transports range, however the enemy carriers near Espiritu Santo put a clear crimp on allied efforts to resupply and redeploy.
Operation Empire Swarm got off to a good start, a whole lot of ships took off in many tiny TFs from Pore and are making the Malacca straits passage independently. They have come under harassing attack from enemy planes, but up to now, with the exception of a single AP, they are coming along nicely

PS: DOES ANYONE NOW HOW TO UNSTICK THE SHIPS NEAR ADEN????[X(]

Those ships are still stuck on the reef.
Any ideas on how to get them out?

This looks like a map data problem. To get the ships unstuck, BOTH players should switch to the map data file (Pwhex.dat) from my STANDARD map, order the TF to move to the nearest hex that is drawn as an ocean hex on the map, freeze all other TFs in or near the Aden/Panama channels in place (or be VERY careful how you move them), run some turns until the TF gets to an ocean hex, then BOTH players should swap to the map data file from the EXTENDED map, then keep playing.
