Loki, the site I posted is a joke . Go back and you'll get another "essay" if you reload and so on. The site makes funof such language. Laughter makes points better than crankiness.

I also happen to know a few philosophers who are a)wargamers b)have sex with their wives in addition to masturbating c)think the Russians need balancing in WIR 3.101 d) would like to see more play balance tips e)with just a bit of SPAM in it

Better than reading philosophy is to read everything else and then think philosophy.

Joke or not i had fun trashing it.

Who was cranky? What points?

So the Axis wins most of the games. An Axis player who demolishes a Soviet player can then switch sides in a replay after such a game. If similar results occur (a quick Axis quick victory in fall '41) learn from that limitation. Limitations are signposts. One can contemplate them, traverse them after looking for cross traffic, run them, turn around if lost, plead ignorance, illiteracy, poor night vision, many, many, approaches or retreats. Each intertpretation (there are more) has possibilities for enjoyment and gaming fun. It's up to the players to determine what they want to do during that moment in their gaming lives.

WIR is a like a football or basketball: it does not score unless acted upon by human action. Try this next time you're on a court: leave the ball on the court alone. It does not matter if it's deflated and old ("unbalanced") or new and regulation size ("balanced"), it won't budge on its own. It's up to the human(s) to move the ball.

After looking at ver 3.101 the past week, it looks tough for the Soviets, so play the Axis 50% of the time and balance out your gaming lumps.

History isn't linear in time or space all the time or all in space. Humans certainly are not, and we create, construct and contest and conflate history.

I certainly hope I'm somewhat circular and entirely clear. I'm in good company here.
