To all
Just read throught this thread and most of the house rules seem great.. but one.
_______________________________________________
I do not consider player directed air attacks to take place over the span of a week but in the same manner as ALL other combat. That is, in 5 phases.
_______________________________________________
Thus Interdiction attacks for example can only be launched in support of units under the command of that HQ but the HQ can launch up to 5 of them (thus a target 'could' be hit 5 times in a week but usually only 2 or 3)
As i play(as german) with the luftwaffe in the east all concentrated into 5 HQ's then one interdiction per HQ would mean only 5 interdictions per turn on the whole front and severely undermine the true strength of the luftwaffe.
So to Matt, Muzz and Varjager. In the 2 games where i'm german ive cancelled all special supply except to units under 50% readiness. In the 2 where i'm soviets there will be no use of mules.
Fine. That is reasonable
But i will not conceed to an idea that A PzGruppe
or SovietArmy Hq with over a thousand planes at its disposal could only launch 1 interdiction attack on a specific unit while at the same time supporting maybe 10 ground attacks at different times over a week.(and cause readiness loss to the enemy in those attacks)
That would be like saying the luftwaffe CAN supply a full Pz Kps behind the soviet lines.
So as the germans i will continue to play as i have been and as the soviets i will not bat a eye if you pound sov units with multiple attacks. I expect it.

Lokioftheaesir, so you correlate what one says with word counts?Originally posted by Lokioftheaesir:

I can answer that.
In view of the amount of words you use in relation to how much you actually say...
Well, your standing on it. (the box)

Fair to YOU. Do you mean "you're" or "your"? AH! You're (you are) SUPPOSING now!
And YOU ARE (you're) "You're (you are)
You got me- damn.
I better shut the hell the up 'your' just to good!
I am amazed that a mind like 'yours' wastes 'its' time playing bugged PC games- you should be splitting the atom or laying bricks for a living.
GET TRANSPT- I just love the attacks on writing and typing skills- they 'feel good in my tummy' if I may quote the master GET TRANSPT.
But then again they dont resolve very much these attacks- 'YOUR' STILL A CHEAT.

I just did it in 3.101. Not sure what you're seeing. Try Campaign '41, Soviet turn. Add new HQ near Riga, set replacement level to 100% for the new HQ and for the Baltic Front east of Riga, then goto next turn. On next turn you can switch (Alt-H) the corps in Riga to the new HQ, do the Shift-S for special supply, then Alt-H the unit back to the Baltic Front HQ.

Yes, the debate here in the forum was more interesting. I was thinking of the brutally short debate on this in the beta team mailing list. Half of the problem there was my being my usual stubborn self, and refusing to compromise. Agree to disagree, majority rules, end of debate. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Not really disagreeing, but its a little more complicated. Continuation attacks can go on after all 5 phases of movement has been completed, IIRC.
but the HQ can launch up to 5 of them (thus a target 'could' be hit 5 times in a week but usually only 2 or 3)
Right now the fundamental problem is that 5 separate air missions do more damage than those 5 bomber groups flying in one big mission. To me, this is backwards, the large combined mission should do the most damage, but this is just my opinion. This is why the issue of how many missions a bomber group can make in a one week turn is so important. Add to this the ability to launch missions from other HQs on this one unit. It ends up getting hit 15 or 20 times in one turn. This leaves me wondering just how many air missions can occur over one square, because I can only imagine how heavy the air traffic was over that lone unit. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

GET TRANSPT, you bufoon! Making fun of other peoples english is a really cheap shot. While I'm no anti-mule fanatic (I don't use them myself but I would if my opponent insisted on allowing them) its hard to have any sympathies for someone who tries to ridicule his opponent by demeaning his language skills.Originally posted by GET TRANSPT:
It's a 0-0 tie. But you'll always be a winner to me. Maybe. Like Monty Python said, "You're (you are) no fun anymore".
Well, guess what, no matter his english, Mist has contributed vastly more of interest to his fellow gamers on this board than you have, and probably ever will. And now you'll probably answer something "witty" and "clever". Excuse me if I don't ROFLOL this time around. Mist wins 1-0 in my book. You're REALLY no fun (and never were).

Mist is the creator of the current WIR map and also a member of the beta testing group, and doing well in both eneavors, IMHO.
Our new participant in this forum is apparently unaware of the international nature of this forum. In such a forum not everyone has a good command of English. The vast majority of the rest of us understand this and ignore the mistakes. Mr. GET TRNSPT is an unfortunate, but not unusual exception, as there are others like him:

He was attacking my english skills. Which is fine-
that does not worry me. I dont really pay much attention to what the written word is when I type messages on the forum.
I dont really find it important to do so. Most people just scroll on down the page and rarely read what is truely written anyway.
He didnt attack Mist, just myself.
But I think he has recieved your points loud and clear- such attacks are used to hide the fact that he has very little to contribute to a conversation or to a community.
So let him continue with it, if it is all he has to offer then so be it.
BTW GET TRANST- whatever your name is- have a good search on this forum and you will find even worse examples of my 'poor skill at the written word'.

messrs. cogburn and yohan could take a second to read mr. muzrub's last post, who imagines he's under attack.
points for creativity for mr. yohan in inventing a quote with an imaginary attack on mist, and ed scores double bonus points for quoting an invented quote of an imaginary attack.
and muzrub is imagining himself under attack after he cheerfully posted his creation of me as loser, cheater, etc after i posted my opinions on gaming.
imagination like this feeds creativity. future game design is assured!
that's good news if we ever get back to games.

Loser? I never called you that. Let's not make your misguided rantings any bigger than they are already.
I called you a cheat! That simple.

He made a simple mistake- have you never made one?
But I see 'your' also the sort of fellow that needs to post about anothers simple error in order to reasure his stance.
Not only that but he recognised his mistake and posted after seeing his error.

Not at all.
'Your' just another flame poster.
Another time waster.
Cheater.
Pathetic small minded fool that you come across on the net from time to time- thats all.
Have fun.
GET TRANSPT can I have a spell check on what I had just written?
Oh and a Grammar check too- I'm not very good at that.
Actually can you just give me a free lesson I need the help.
Thanks <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Hmmm, lets see now....
These quotes are not Muzrub's nor Mist's, they are you'res (yours) Mr. GET TRANSPT. These look awfully substantial myself. Now who is imagining what here? From Mr. GET TRANSPT:
a) Fair to YOU. Do you mean "you're" or "your"?
b) Good your(your) "psychic powers" work again! I see you're (you are) also an expert in filling forums and what constituets emptiness. Do you teach forum filling and fulsome posting, perhaps? I care. I do.
c) AH! You're (you are) SUPPOSING now! So much for reading my mind! Come on, don't give up!
d) Speaking to an audience of "folks" are you? And YOU ARE (you're) a drama critic and comedy expert as well? Wow.
e) It's a 0-0 tie. But you'll always be a winner to me. Maybe. Like Monty Python said, "You're (you are) no fun anymore".
imagination like this feeds creativity. future game design is assured!
Indeed. How many games have you designed? With such a finely honed instrument on your shoulders you must be a master at it. Its such a shame to see such a great talent wasted on pointless pursuits in a small forum, on a small website, in the vastness of the internet. There are much bigger venues out there who would love you're (your) skills and pay mightily.
that's good news if we ever get back to games.
It is only you who is holding up a return to normalcy here, you do seem more interested in annoying people rather than sticking to the subject at hand. If your (you're) ready to talk WiR, so are we. Not philosophy, nor post-modernism, nor people's spelling errors, just WiR.

Logic belongs to noone. Whose facts? The facts that are publicly available about the time frame. It's called common knowledge. If I say I don't want you to have Cruise Missiles in a WiR session then I expect you to use your knowledge (which is a subset of common knowledge plus things only you know) and apply logic to it to come to a conclusion if I am reasonable to demand this or not.
On a last note, you should not forget WHAT you are playing. You are playing the game War in Russia, the Matrix Edition and I am quite sure it's a 3.x version.
This game as it is now is the result of people sacrificing their free time to improve one of the very few games that try to deal with this topic on a high level of realism. OOBs are updated to get historic nonsense out or to get more important equipment types and formations in. The map has been reworked, mostly to ensure that the game engine produces historically possible results. What you do is turn this attempt at realism into a simple red team versus blue team game without any tie to reality. If this is your desire then do so. But don't intimidate this group any longer. You are welcome to post criticism and ideas on the board and take part in a civilized discussion. Your attempt to push your opinion despite all dissent is not in compliance with the spirit of this group. You should admit that. I am quite sure the people of this board won't take it too serious and it is easy for you to come back to normality and be an accepted member of this community.
To me it is not of interest if you apply what I view as cheat in your games against the AI. But never try to play a multiplayer game against me if you do such a twist to the engine.

Ed, I don't consider posting 1,425 times in one year "normal" nor can I speak for others like you do. BUT, I'd love to see what you have to say for your opinions. I certainly hope it takes less than 1,425 more posts for you to overcome me "holding up" your mind so that you can be ready to "talk subject at hand".
Your hand seems to be devoted mostly to typing about what I'm posting, not saying anything about your ever elusive "subject" . Do you have anything to post here NOT about me or my posts?. I surely did not come into this forum to see posts just about me. I may interest you, but you interested in me is not so interesting to me.

Not another bad joker. Try your luck in the "Art of war" forum along with the guy who congratulated the terrorist attacks and the guys who think nuking a population is apropriate.
I understand one is sometimes carried off, but your deliberate attempt to anger people is nothing but moronic.

Things have reached that stage again.
Hey buddy, your grasping at straws bringing up ed's post #. And you know it. He has posted that many times because he has had 1400 things to say and each one (that i've seen) has had valid content.
This board is about WiR and though it wanders of sometimes (to no harm) the core of it is WiR.
It is not a personal slag match. Actions decide and in the short time you've been posting most replies to you have been angry and not at all in line with reasonable conversation. Except for mine but i like goading nincompoops.
You want to argue then come spar with me at
WWW.bluereality.org (if you can swim in deep water)
Otherwise... (and i hope that i speak for the majority of posters)
Fuck off
Loki
PS. Nothing personal but we like have most posts related to WiR and not your ego.
