Problem with bombardment of Palembang is that you'll end up damaging the oil facilities there [:(], you need that 900 oil and 1000 refinery in tact! You're stretched very thinly in the DEI and you're trying to take Malaya and PI at the same time. See if you can round up a few troops at some of the secured bases and ship them to Paley. Historically you are quite a bit ahead as far as invasions are concerned. Also try not to use any engineers when taking a base that has facilities in it - they tend to blow sh!t up unnecessarily [:)] If you have good odds against your opponent use just a deliberate attack, using a shock attach also runs the risk of doing damage to facilities (oil, refinery, resources, etc). I can see a number of enemy TF's at Bataan!! Nooo! you've got to make sure he cant get supply to his troops in Manila or Bataan, He'll end up being able to hold out for months if he can get supplies through, worse - he'll be able to build fortifications. Blockage Bataan and keep bombing the port and/or airfields in Manila and Bataan - this has the effect of preventing him from building forts. The game engine works such that if port or airfields are damaged then engineers will repair them first before switching to building forts.

Oh yeah, I totally was forgetting about that. Good catch. No more ship bombardments, gotcha. I've got some troops enroute to Pally even as we speak. They should be there within about a week or so.

I didn't know that. I'm guessing that's a good thing.

Thanks for the heads up.......I didn't know that.

I've got the harbour blockaded and his ships aren't moving anywhere but from Bataan to Manila and back. Every once in a while he'll try running my blockade and we'll end up having some ships get hit. I've got mines in the blockade hexes so that helps.

Bomb the ports and airfields to keep the engineers working on them instead of the forts.......good idea. I like that. Thanks. All this advice is greatly appreciated and I'm hoping there is something we can tell Jim about his situation also. Fair is as fair does I guess.

Here's the troops I have headed for Manila. It's the 53rd/C Div and it's about 4,000 men strong. I'm hoping it'll make a difference
when it finally arrives at Manila because I'm sort of in a hurry to grab the city. I figure that if I can grab Manila Jim's PI troops will
be out of supply and will steadily weaken from my bombing and so on. The 53rd/A and 53rd/B are still on the home island and I'm
saving up the PP's to convert them to the 14th Army to be able to load them on transports so as to eventually bring the entire
division to the PI. I figure it'll be needed there to do the final reduction of Bataan.

Again Larry is simply overwhelming my ASW forces on the West Coast...

Submarine attack near San Francisco at 216,72
Japanese Ships
SS I-4

Allied Ships
xAK Alabaman, Shell hits 1, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage

Hopefully Phillipine Is. will be a slow attrition war- I REFUSE to be sucked into an attack because Larry keeps referring himself as being outmanned and outgunned in Manila!
I keep thinking back to what Michael said about RA defenses and stacking there , I now know what he means about the penalties, Too Late to do anything about it now!
I am ALWAYS willing to take advice in this game, Larry seems to be getting the bulk of it so far... must be his avatar pix, LOL!

Here's aircraft production. According to Tracker I'm losing more Zero's than I'm building so I need to bump up the production of Zero's.

Jim has at least three subs operating near the Japanese Home Islands. They are making pests of themselves.

I am aware of the excellent advice above about bombardment of Palembang and I would have turned off this bombardment attack on Palembang except that I had already sent my moves to Jim.

Jim has some P-40's near Davao that still have some bite left. I really need to get some airfield troops into Davao to help get more
Zero's airborne on these raids.
