Yeah. No kidding. Just think if you had used it for the first 13 months of the war! [X(]

You wouldn't believe how long it took to run combat replays on my old dinosaur. Say 400 turns at 15 minutes...that's 100 hrs! That about a week longer than my average vacation. [:D]

Why are the LYB's being so culturally insensitive? Is the Soviet Union sending us suppries? Pretend I didn't read the manual.

Well, first it was Uyghurs and now the Japs. I'm not sure which is worse. Here is hoping they get too exhuberant and go after Alma-Ata.

By ra way, Alma-Ata was home to about 60 war materiel factories evacuated from West of the Urals.

Boela: I'll be damned. It worked. I think the IJN garrison was a unit fragment that had been flown in. They had no guns. About 60% of 503rd made the drop, some 280 troops. This is the first capture of an occupied Jap base by airborne assault. All that noise from Colorado and the B-17's and SBD's was unnecessary. In fact, the port, runway and airfield service facilities are all about 50% destroyed now. The good news...5000 tons of suppries left behind. [:)] I think the runway will take single engine fighters so I will send some in and fly in some aviation upport. SeaBees and AA land today.

An intredpid IJN sub went after the BB's near Boela. It didnt turn out so well. The words "massive explosion" and submarine don't mix.

ASW attack near Kai-eilanden at 82,114

Japanese Ships
SS I-30, hits 9, heavy damage

Allied Ships
BB Indiana
DD Lansdowne
DD Monssen
DD Dewey
DD Benham
DD Sims

SS I-30 is sighted by escort
DD Dewey fails to find sub, continues to search...
DD Benham attacking submerged sub ....
DD Sims attacking submerged sub ....
Massive explosion on SS I-30
Escort abandons search for sub

Ambon: The B-24 raid from Darwin was a big success. 52 B-24's, $92,000,000.....one wrecked Jap base....priceless.

The Tojos were busy fying fighter sweeps over Saumlaki. Only 4 Nicks in the air. Transports on the ground. Probably evacuating Dobo or flying in stuff to Boela.

Morning Air attack on Ambon , at 76,109

Weather in hex: Heavy rain

Raid spotted at 38 NM, estimated altitude 12,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 12 minutes

Message found tacked to public notice board outside Boela Regional Courthouse.

Found:  Inquire within.  One large submarine found floating belly up off Boela Beach resort.  Owner unknown; but Imperial involvement suspected.  Large hole from "Massive Explosion" in port side.  Possible corpse clean up fee owed by new owner.  Pump services available.  Call Joe's Army and Navy Surplus between 9:00AM and 3:00PM.  Yes, we work Saturdays!

That was quick thinking to plug the hole. I wonder if they asked for volunteers or used mattresses and timbers.[X(]

Keep up the tempo. Looks like small LYB evac convoys at Derby. Can we advance faster than they retreat?

What do you think about fast transport landings on several of those dot hexes you own in the Moluccas?

Yes, the Marine Raider Bns. are perfect for that, but it is hard to get enough supply and engineers ashore to build an airfield quickly. Anything within 12 hexes of a level 2 Allied airfield is a candidate for an air drop. Given the present bases, that means eanything up to and including Mangole and the islands surrounded the Ceram Sea. I am hoping that Ternate or Namlea are ungarrisoned.

Given the damage at Boela, should take 7+ days to get to level 2. Remarkable amount of oil at Boela, 16800. I dont think JJ has ever touched it.

Will you have aircover on ingress and egress? Should be easy range for Netties and escorts based out of Koepang.
