RE: THE THREAD!!!
Good Thread, it was a scary commute today. There was SO much ice out there... When I get off the train in the town where my hospital is, it's about a 15 minute walk from the station; when Mrs. McDull and I made that trip this morning, it was an <expletive deleted> ice rink! We were both all cramped up when we arrived at work, because every muscle from the neck down had to be tensed.

I was supposed to go the gym today, but I'm literally afraid to step outside. I'm lucky I got back in one piece...
It'll have to be tomorrow instead.

I see you made it safely, T. That's good. Maybe you need to find a red-headed nurse to massage out those cramps. [;)]

It snowed for around 10 minutes then stopped and rained the rest of the time. [X(] 70% chance today but now it is a nice crisp 25F and sunny up to a high of 30F. [:)]ORIGINAL: Chickenboy
Curiously, not here...[&:] Predictions for 3-6" overnight amounted to exactly bupkis for the Twin Cities...I wonder if that means that we get more today? Everyone's heard that line about 'payback'.ORIGINAL: BrucePowers

Got stuck at the rink where the wireless was down tonight. [8|] [:D]
Has it started snowing yet?
Lucky for you, tonight it's just me

You know, the suprising thing is i've found his Stalingrad book to be very readible. After having read his Kursk book, i was fully expecting be cross eyed myself after the first 10 pages. Then again, Kursk was one battle (albeit a HUGE one) whilest this is a campaign. There's still a mind numbing amount of detail and huge OOB charts, but all in all.....i've been devouring the book to my suprise. Great recommendation. Puts all other previous Stalingrad books to shame. While he does dispell alot of "myths" about the campaign, this is no simple revisionist title. He also confirms and clarifies alot of prior author points as well which (to me at least) increases the credability of his work.
in an age of Someone is Wrong on the Internet....it's given me a fresh appreciation for the skill of the Wehrmacht whilst in it's peak of efficiency. It's also given me a new appreciation of the Soviet Union's incredble powers of resiliancy.

The only Glantz book I have is on Kharkov. It sits on the shelf collecting dust. I had high hopes.....

Evening tithe, snowing in USA I see, you'll have to put you're 'woollies' on then. [:D]
Ever since I moved to the Pacific Northwest (from Georgia in the balmy southeast) I have done my best to keep your country's economy afloat. Merino is a staple in my wardrobe.
