RE: US CV TF ATTACKED!!!!!!!

Post by zuluhour »

Interesting what we believe from allied intel sources, before the game ended and I got THINZ's password I thought I downed about 60 aircraft on the last day, but when I checked his intel it was over 130! Some of my recon in Burma was also greatly over estimated. At Mandaly I thought I was facing upwards of 700av accross the river but it turned out to be 145!

Kurt:  I hope the tide is changing but not sure just yet.

KB moving towards the Marshalls
MKB SW of Koepang

China
Sian
Bombed by Sally's, AF is closed down.

Hengyang
10th and 104th IDs prepping for this location.  Might bomb them tomorrow just to remind them their is a war on.

Burma
Rangoon
We notice a small TF here.  Forming up a SAG to go and investigate.

Koepang
P38s find nothing.  MKB moving SW.  CAP is up over Derby.  I do have some ships moving away from Derby.  So Koniu might find them.

Marshall's
KB is between Ponape and Kaussie islands.  Wotje now has 2k worth of supplies with several xAKs unloading now.  I might have them run from the KB.  APDs damage a sub at Wotje.  They will drop off supplies and run back home to get some more.

Lots of subs taking shots at ships nothing goes boom.  Some ASW still nothing that went boom.

Brisbane
I broke the Oz ID down to maybe get more replacments.  They are coming faster than before but not fast enough.  Can I say that I would love to go to Ozzie land, but I'd have to take my wife.

10th and the 11th Nov

KB moving back towards Truk
MKB unknown

China
Sian
AF and surrounding units are bombed and bombarded for no real loses.  AF is still closed down.

Hengyang
We kill 140 troops on the ground.

Changsha
Tojo's sweep and meet stiff resistance. 42 Tojos are reported as lost.  Our loses are 14 P40E's, 4 P40K's, and 4 Lancers.

Burma
Mandalay
We kill another 400 or so.  Looks like these units are leaving the open hex.

North coast of Borneo
We miss a big tanker.

Truk
A sub misses a Jap CV[:@].  But we do hit the Kongo with a live one.  Koniu says its probably out of the war if it survives.

Maloelap
Jap sub sinks an xAK.

HI
SC's damage I-1 reported to have heavy damage.  We also nail another sub just to the south of the I-1 attack.

Intel
29th ID is prepping for Wotje.  Jap paratroopers are prepping for Terapo.

12th Nov

KB unknown
MKB unknown

Tulagi
Our 2E's find a troop convoy and hammer 6 ships.  I suspect 2 or 3 will sink.  I am sending a small SAG up to meet it.  If it is still in the area.

Maloelap
Koniu bombs the AF and port.  He sinks the ACM and AGP in the harbour.

Nothing major this turn.  Waiting for everything to be in place for Op Shoestring.

KB unknown
MKB unknown

China
Sian
Japs bomb and bombard some LCU's.

Wotje
Japs sink an ACM and 2 xAKs.  I think I will set up a CAP trap at Maloelap.  I see only 75 fighters at Roi-Namur.

We each damage a sub this turn.

I would like to start getting supplies down to the north Burma.  I thought the Monsoon season was over.  If I had supplies flowing south from India I would take Mandalay and a few other bases.  My Oz ID is not really taking troops.  HMMM  Will have to figure that out.  They have plenty of supply with a command HQ in the same base on rest with plenty of replacements.

Got the turn.

Looks like the 8th ID is prepping for Johnson Island.  Moving troops to counter this, if it really happens.

Kongo is still alive and barely moving Koniu has alot of ships with it right now.  I have redirected subs into its projected travel path.

Rangoon
I see some more ships around.  I am sending my SAG back into harms way.

Wotje/Maloelap
Sending in more supplies.  Waiting for the grease monkeys to fix some broken AC before sending them back to Maloelap.  If I catch Koniu's planes and down alot of them.  I will bring in some P38s and B25s.

Sian
I see a chance at either scaring Koniu to move some of his forces or be cut off.

KB moving towards Roi Namur
MKB unknown

Sian AO
Bombardments.

Rangoon
Our SAG meets and Jap SAG.  Our CL is sunk and DD damaged.

Wotje
Bombed AF is closed again.  KB is moving into the area.  Not for sure why.  One of my subs missed an AP just ahead of the KB.  I don't think its an invasion TF only 5 ships reported.  So CAP trap is on hold.

Just caught up on this AAR - enjoying the tension as both sides still have claws!
I think those 5 APs are likely for withdrawing units - the Marshalls are now a lost cause for the Japanese.

Thanks for reading and posting BBfanboy.

I can only hope that he thinks that.  I am kinda weak here at the moment all my supplies are gone and supplies take forever to offload.  I have seen fewer fighters at his bases the past few days.  I have to causing a huge drain on his fuel by now.

Yes the game is full of tension.  Both Koniu and I are about equal in experience, but I think Koniu is a better player than me.

I do think its time that he started to make his defenses and halt most major ops. I can see some holes in his lines. I have been quiet in some areas because of this. Just waiting for my toys to arrive.

Updated to new beta.

16th Nov

KB around the Marshalls
MKB unknown

Sian AO
Jap bombards our Chinese LCU's.

Hengyang
We bomb his ID's in the open hex.

Maloelap
RO boat puts a TT into an xAK unloading supplies.  DDs will later put a big hurt on it.  I think it may have sunk. Helens attack the DD's and miss.  Supplies are to low for fighter ops.

That 5 ship TF that I spotted moving towards Roi Namur.  Well it was 3 DD's and 2 AR's.  They are not at Kuasie Island with the Kongo.  KB disappeared off my Nav search radar.

Lots of sub and ASW action this turn.

Should "not at Kusaie Is." read "now at Kusaie Is"?[&:] Seems like a strange negative reporting in the first instance.

Do you know whats east of Sian? SE of Siam requires risky math IMHO trying to keep him at 1:2 odds. You have terrain but also supply issues I imagine. Let me know if you need the supply multipliers from Alfred. The #2 hex is the key. I do like the way Chinese formations can shred an IJA unit if they get to uber confident. I imagine he is bombarding for recon, a feature I abhor, and knows your AV but not your adjusted AV?

Sian
Japs bomb a stack and kill 600.

Henyang
Koniu set a CAP trap.  I lost 29 to his 19.  Most of these were Chinese, so not replaceable.

N Oz
CL sinks and xAKL and AM.

Wotje
AF bombed and closed.

Kurt:  There is 2 units in one hex and 2 in another.  Iknow of 1 ID and 1 BDE.  I see that he is moving atleast one unit towards my Chinese stack to the east of Sian.  I have over 1200 AV behind atleast 1 fort there.  Lets see what he can do with them.  They are ok in supply.

Actually, judging by the map, you have done something right in China to have supply to all the major cities on the Yangtze. 1200av in urban terrain supplied could be a IJA squad buster. Don't forget to check leaders. Something must be wrong with me, I am getting attached to the Chinese front.
