My anti-virus software (Norton) didn't like the 23v update, so it did not install. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix? Every previous update installed flawlessly. Thanks.

Me too.

I had to instruct NAV to undo its quarantine, to restore the file. I then ran a NAV System Quick Scan and Custom Scan of the Beta2 folder. No virus reported. The game starts up with no issues.

So, just instruct NAV to restore the quarantined installer file. After that, everything should be fine. AFAIK.

I use Norton AV, and it didn't complain when I ran the installer (I always run the installer on the off-chance I got something wrong :)]
Run LiveUpdate to ensure signatures up to date. Sometimes I get alerts (reputation?) for files which have only been released, or few people use them. After a few days, when the file gets around, it doesn't seem to hit that wall anymore.

I just found out the new 'U' upgrade column is blank on the list of army units in a hex as distinct to the global army list.
Fixed and uploaded as v2. No change to the version number, though the date stamp should be newer.
Thanks George.

Thanks for adding the Upgrade column to Ground Units. [&o] [&o]
For Allied players it is needed to micro-manage your CommonWealth Units as there is never enough of certain devices.

michealm, I had to reload my computer including WITPAE. I have also been doing Beta testing for DW. Anyway, When I download the new beta for WITPAE, I get a Icon for distant worlds and the beta line for WITPAE. see picture. When the beta goes to load it asks to run the Distant worlds installer. Any Ideas????[&:]
Cheers

I deleted all DW downloads, logged out and relogged into the forums, Restated my computer, Nothing is working.[:(]

No idea. Sounds like the file association for .zip in windows has been mixed up.
If you right click on the file, and look at properties, it should tell you what program is used to open the file. It should be using 'zip'.

as in
Downloads from forum always randomize the file name, but just do a shown on file. It should still say it is a zip and have a zip icon unless being opened by DistantWorlds.exe

Michael,

I've had this weird thing happen for the last 3 updates. Whenever a US sub gets sunk, the in-turn game messages tell me that a sub of the similar class has been sunk, not the actual sub that took the Deep 6. For example, the Barb just got sunk (according to the battle report) but the game message told me that the Shark sank.

When I check during my next order phase, the Shark is just fine but no Barb and the Ships Sunk table shows the Barb buying the farm.

Just a small nit. You are doing a great job. Thank you so much.

The issue is that your opponent will see the same message, hence the need for FOW. Your own sunk ships list will have the accurate name.

there's a thing, w/ LCU Targeting - the 'Set Future Objective' button.

where if I set an LCU to train to an Enemy-occupied base-hex, my LCU will get a 25% or 33% start on its new target (or less, if the LCU wasn't already at 100% for its previous target).

but if I set an LCU to plan for a Friendly-occupied base-hex, it invariably starts at 0%.

IMO, if the base-hex is Friendly, an LCU should start from 33% or 50% planning, when assigned to train for that Friendly base.

AFAIK, this is WAD.

Correct. The amount you get is based upon the EXP of the unit. This feature was added about 2 years ago ...

To clarify, there was also reasoning why one didn't get bonus for own base in this case.
