I've lost a destroyer somewhere, I think it was in the gun battle I had with the Soviet arty units earlier, so this time I'm going to back off to my full range and bombard the Soviet arty ( range 2 for both of the Soviet arty units ) to see if I can damage/destroy any of them.

Just for grins, I moved the 4th Geb Div by boat to the port here and then exausted their movement points overland to get where they are now.

The SS Totenkopf Div is headed for Leningrad contrary to it's earlier mission to complete the surround at the river crossing. I deemed it more important to show a presence as far east as possible as early as possible.

The 254th and 21st Inf Div's are going to try a flanking attack on the motorized Soviet Inf Div blocking the road and ignore the Soviet fort for now. That Soviet fort isn't going anywhere fast.

The regiments of the 206th Inf Div used most of their movement points getting off the riverbank onto dry ground and now face Soviet armour threats.

The 269th, 32nd, and 121st Inf Div's want to try another flanking attack on the Soviet airborne unit NE of Daugavpils but have to wait until round two because some of the 269th regiments had to move to get into position.

The 12th Inf Div moved to pin the Soviet armour unit in place while the 129th Inf Div moved to the east side of Minsk to start the surround process. An MP unit traveled further to the south on the west side of the river to help cut off the Soviet supplies from the east.

A recon my an MP unit reveals that nobody is in the town of Druya so the 122nd and 123rd Inf Div's think they can force their way across the river there, assaulting the Soviet division to the north of Druya.

The 35th and 268th Inf Div's think they can get that Soviet division to retreat if they jointly attack him so they're going to try.

All three regiments of the 102nd Inf Div are going to try to get that Soviet recon unit to retreat to make flank attacks possible on the rest of the Soviet units in the line of defenders.

The 78th Sturm, 252nd, and 263rd Inf Div's are going to try a flank attack on that Soviet NKVD division. If they can get him to back up they have a chance to get a flank attack on the Soviet division to the NKVD's south.

Two elements of the 29th Panzer Gren. Div are going to try to get that Soviet recon unit to retreat, which will allow flanking attacks on the Soviet division to the recon units' north.

Elements of the 213th Sec Division were going to check out an enemy controlled hex and discovered quite by accident, the presence of a partisan unit. An MP unit moved in to the west side to corner the partisan where it is so he can be hunted down and killed.

Rather than attacking these guys frontally, why didn't you send more troops through Pleshchenitsy and spread out on the Berezina River and cut off supply for the whole Minsk area (ie., instead of having stacks of 3 units all across the front, 1-2 and the rest around the back)? Or is Minsk a supply point for the soviets?

No, Minsk isn't a supply point or anything...it's just that I'm in a rather big hurry to kill these guys and get to Smolensk to start the real fight.

I dropped the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Brandenburgers on the roads leading out of Minsk to the east to help cut the supplies to the Soviet units still defending in Minsk.

The 427/430/436 arty battery is going to pound the Soviet airbase nearby again. I've noticed that that Soviet squadron keeps getting replacements, so the goal is not to destroy it entirely, just keep killing the replacement aircraft from turn to turn. It is hoped that more aircraft will be destroyed that way rather than just outright destroying the Soviet unit.

I've been moving the railroad repair guys as far as they can go and still be able to do a repair and turn 6s' repair job is a little dissappointing. There's gaps and the rail doesn't go all that far. Maybe next turn the job will get done better.

Yeah, I suppose sooner or later I'm going to need that hex for something, supply or....

But other than that it's kinda fun watching the squadron get it's replacements and me destroy them.   Even if it's out of supply....Karri and I noticed this phenonomina in an earlier game and it pissed him off that I could do that.  And if I keep pounding it, it keeps going into reorg and he can't even move it.  LOL.
