"Honey, forget that stupid game today and get that sod in before it gets ruined."

"It's Captain Mandrake, Mrs. Mandrake."

"Whatever!"

And is was hotter than **** yesterday. Then the rototiller broke down[:@] My crew ran out of energy about 4 PM. I offered them $20 an hour..there eyes got real big..but they couldn't do it. [:)] I had to take about 4 showers yesterday when I felt the heat exhaustion setting in..and was out there till 8:15 PM laying the stuff. I even had my 14 year old daughter help for a bit. [8D Sill have about a 1000 sq ft. to do. Uggh. looks fantatstic though.

Everything from Gili Gili to Townsville is on a tripwire...even Yossarian's group (armed with the new Mk82C)

I don't know, but I bet if Yossarian drops 50,000 cans of spam and pineapple onto the open deck of an IJN CV, the antiaircraft gunners and deck crew who aren't knocked senseless will quit doing their jobs and break for a snack...[:D]

And then, just maybe the SBDs will catch the IJN decks full with attack planes unable to take off...Mitsuo Fuchida would have nightmares again! [:)]

You go Yossarian! M&M, all the way... [&o]

Reminds me of the quote "God created grass for man's use and enjoyment, but then the Devil created lawns..." (or something like that!) [8|] [:'(]

OK - to keep this straight: Halsey has Saratoga, Lexington, Indomitable, Illustrious, and Furious vs. Zuikaku, Shokaku, and Kaga (in Banda Sea)

and

Enterprise and Hornet vs. Akagi, Shoho, Ryujo in Coral Sea.

Well, without factoring land air, i'd give advantage to Halsey in Banda Sea, and maybe Enterprise and Hornet in Coral Sea. WITH land air, it's anyone's fight!

So far, so good, but where is the IJN counterpunch? Probably en route...

Wow! Massive damage in the first wave of Allied attacks! Now, will there be an effective counterstrike before the Allies can recover, rearm, refuel, and launch again? I'm betting that a large part of the Japanese strike potential is already out of the fight.

Yes, I'm still avidly following and enjoying this thread! [8D]

Almost right..its Formidable..not Furious
Enterprise and Hornet vs. Akagi, Shoho, Ryujo in Coral Sea.

Bingo. Yorktown is late for the fight, just having refueled in Brisbane. Wasp is playing goose to some Goslings as is Hermes..and Long Island is steaming around aimlessly int he Indian Ocean trying to get the Japs to waste a torpedo on her.
