Which of my facts do you dispute. None, as I thought.

You choose to start an argument. Very well. The word hyperbole, means exaggeration at least, only facts are presented here.

The conclusion, criminal behavior, is not justified is what you mean, but have chosen to make your point by diminishing me with with charge of hyperbole. Very well, I have a product, you may buy it at any price you wish. This product will not work. I will keep your money.

Of course you will not send me any money.

You and the others appearing in the forum who will now come forth and attack me are collaborators.

Matrix could investigate this and if this particular practice that I have experienced is limited to only one or few rouge employees that could be fixed. I can't start any kind of investigation. If this kind of say "stonewalling" is company policy. Then Matrix and others should stop doing business with them.

Usually nothing gets done until a critical mass of complaints builds up. I have seen a few others from time to time.

I bought a download version of a game from steam a few months ago, now the desktop icon and the entry into steam are broken. Steam is insisting on some byzantine procedure for making proof of purchase. Like they didn't already know I had purchased their product/service.

This proof that this outfit, steam, is a criminal enterprise.

Have you contacted Steam support? It does take some time but they will help you with your problem.

I have many issues with Steam. I dislike the outfit for reasons that go back to as far as 2007. I'm not even going to go into them because the defenders may abound and it's not worth arguing over. I am trying to buy more games outside of Steam now, even though I have 340 games through Steam. Lately they have been going offline a lot and that's the main reason I am slowly departing their graces. [:)] Yes I know, I can play offline, but the last one happened when I was making a purchase. Made me mad for the last time. They suck.

They usually don't pay you much attention. I have been going round with them on returns for a couple months now. They referred me to their policy on returns and I am 100% complying, but they still have their "special" terms that are not in print. [8D] They still suck.

Sorry to hear that...I've had some issues with Steam in the past, it did take some time to resolve but they made it good.

I realize that Steam is a necessary option now. Gaming was bound to go this way, and since I am partially disabled, it is MUCH easier to buy games online than to go to the stores like I used to do. The concept is excellent and I like Workshop for addons, instant patches, versions upgraded fast, etc. I do wish that the people that do customer support would be a bit more understanding and give issues a fair shake rather than be so stubborn.

Just got my final kiss of death from these steam guys, sure I know it's not everybody.

The post mortem. Steam requires a steam "key" for proof of purchase, or they're "sorry". The key is in the steam library, I can't get into the library or anywhere else in support. There is a kind of secondary means of communication which I was using.

My little bug when it gets to you other guys is going to do the same thing. I am "sorry" HA! They knew/know full well I bought their product.

"Tormentum - Dark Sorrow" is on sale at 45% off! [:)] Sale ends October 19th! From the developers: "TORMENTUM is a dark Point & Click adventure game.
The dreamlike, nightmarish atmosphere of the game was inspired by works of painters H.R. Giger and Zdzislaw Beksinski. The game's final look and feel was also strongly influenced by the universes of games such as Demon's Souls or Dark Seed. This unique mixture gave life to a bleak and depressing world.
Those are however the least of his problems as the airship lowers its flight towards a huge gloomy castle which soon becomes his prison. Thus begins the surreal story bordering somewhere between dream and reality... " Features on the Store page...
