Death star retires towards darwin -probably for -I guess Kendari next.

I really, really, really hope he does try a "diversion op" in the north -and give KB one last chance for glory.
We will see.

B-29s over the home islands -from China -recon only -but this is bad news
Review of the situation:
A critical examination of our situation as we enter 6/44
AIRFORCE -LBA
After a careful examination of the imperial defences, we are definitely faced with a terrible crises.
This involves just the one critical item –the complete lack of fighters for defence
The recent battles on the northern PNG coast have ripped the heart out of our zeke units.
We have disbanded all remaining units to rebuild the shattered CV units –and we can say that these remain, stronger than ever.
Many in fact have excess pilots.
The cost to our land based zeke unts has been huge
Currently the empire has the following zeke units
1 for northern command
4 for the home islands
1 in the phillipines
1 in the DEI
That’s it
The empire has just 2 george units –one of 27 planes –and another of 48- this unit is still scattered all over the empire.
The army fighter situation is just as critical –just 6 tony units exist, 3 in china/Manchuria, 1 in home defence, one in DEI, one in the phillipines.
None are combat capable –no experienced pilots
The army has 8 tojo units -3 have converted to Frank –the picture here is somewhat better –pilot experience is in the 60’s, still far too low.
All Franks are at soerabaya
We have just 2 operational oscar units in the phillipines –and shattered remnants here and there
So the air situation is critical
Over 20 zeke units had to be disbanded this month –and the pools are empty.
Bomber numbers are terribly low, we do have 100 helens in pool at the moment-and some 100 lillies –it is hoped to upgrade these soon.
Intend to try to conserve these until the main phillipine battles
PLANS
The most important thing is to keep up a façade of strength –so the A/F may well be forced to throw what it has into the next round of invasions –simply to give the zeke pool time to grow.
The georges shall be deployed on the Akagi, Kaga and Taiho –as soon as they have repaired system damage to allow 27 plus knots…………….
We regret the situation –the airforce will attempt to buy the fleet time………..
NAVY
The fleet is all but re gathered in the home islands –only the Hiryu has to get home.
Merchant marine is down to 50 AKs, 60 APs –total, and we have 16 tankers left.
The plan is to gather these into several big convoys –and risk all –by doing a single “grand tour” of the resource centres –covered by fleets of the plentiful ASW groups.
Feel we can grab one last big injection of oil and resources before the gates are closed.
The Carrier fleet is still basically intact –much depends on how quickly the system damage can be repaired
The plan is still all about covering the BB’s –intend to convert Akagi, Kaga, taiho to george/zeke Cap ships –with all the CVEs as well –to cover the BBs
Junyo/Hiyo to be a separate decoy force
All the KatsaguriCV’s and Shok/zuik/hiryu/soryu to be the main strke force
These will be packed with as many zekes as I can get –and Judys only . –and the plan is simple –NO CAP –all escort –and all Judy’s to be on Kami strike.
All will be gambled on getting a strike in at max range –and again hoping his counter strike hits the decoys –Hiyo-Junyo.
All Jills will be in reserve to fly on board (if there is anything to fly onto!)
This plan will need at least 2 weeks to get the squadrons sorted out.
The Navy will not commit to the next battle until marianas/phillipines/or Bonins are threatened.

I am pinned –and all along the front he applies pressure
B-29s are based in Northern china –and this is where I feel I will lose the war –pity –I feel I have more than tabpubs measure in the pacific –but I lost a few divisions in china to the “unit swallowing bug” –and mucked it all up in the early days by playing to a restrictive PP rule –and a few mistakes on my part.

Well Bangkok has received 4 MONTHS of the heaviest bombing you could imagine
But I have simply parked a huge army in the city –and it simply will not die.
I am actually trying to get it surrounded –so that it will not retreat –so all units in Vietnam are headed there –I am going to lose siagon eventually –but he has to, simply has to eliminate my army in Bangkok before he can move on malaya.
He’s that heavily committed.
Im very pleased that here I hold well.
DEI
Actually have 3 divisions in them –and a fair fighter force –the franks
I hope he B-29s soerabaya –it could be a good kill for me.
TIMOR
Holds –it will eventually fall –but again the tabpub army came with too little –and its been very costly for him
The invasions moving north from here are the most dangerous thing at the moment –but each base should hold for a few weeks.

Tabpub could simply sail his death star anywhere with impunity –why he does not –the mere danger of KB and the fleet prevents him
So he slowly advances under LBA and a single death star –I wrecked the last “death moon”, and this is good.
I cannot see a threat to the phillipines for at least a month –and this will be enough time, KB will be ready again!
The tabpub steam roller rolls on –but its not fast enough.
I will lose on points –always would once I captured DEI totally wrecked –but I am still confident that Tabpub is going to find this war a real struggle as we grind on –lack of everything on my behalf withstanding!

taipei continues to be attacked heavily, I am not reinforcing the airgroups -attempting to build up some pools.
In indo china the allies have got around bangkok to some extent -some units are now deep into the interior -siagon is threatened!
OH well -as long as Bangkok sits astride his supply routes -who cares.

Another invasion coming -hollandia/, biak?
I will not challenge it -the fleet must refit
probably 30 DDs just upgraded -so I have no escorts for at least a month./
A gamble -I am really gambling Tabpub will not leap into Siapan or the phillipines/DEI just yet.
Brunie is hit by B29s
parishimio -i lose the last zekes there, long range P38s win, liberators cannot close the field at this rate of ops though.
Death star strikes Woleai -cover for the PNG invasion I think.
Hollandia is naval bombarded
I sight a lot of ships at Attu -so I am dispatching a reception force north, a few planes -and as the fleet repairs -off they go.
Lets see what we can gather- I am sure if he invades parishimo it will have only a few CVs as cover -most are definately south -so maybe i have a chance to really give him a blood nose.

Sorong invaded!!!
No warning
Im trying to gather some sort of response -just to maintain the facade of mighty strength being husbanded[:'(][:'(][:'(][8|].
have 5 frank daitai on the map, going to deploy first ones tomorrow -they constitute almost my entire LBA fighter strength.

The effort against Sorong is a fiasco -his heavy bombers pound the fields I deployed to -still checking A/F signs - and my 60 odd planes that all attacked were all shredded totally -corsairs about!
I have audited the CV fleet -on current repair rates -end of month and we are back to 100% strength.
If we are going to follow history time lines -I may have a fleet for Siapan (if he goes for it), definately one available for the phillipine battles ahead.
Actually do not think Siapan will be invaded -he is coming up from darwin/rabual axis -both axis have met at sorong -I now believe Davao is the ultimate target.

Tabpub tells me he thought yesterdays planes of mine must have been the 3rd raters, nope, they were the best i have[8|]
A ss of mine actually sinks a ml at sabang today[X(]
im typing one handed-on infinite hold here on the phone-our house got hammered by baseball size hail storm this week-no cars left, garage is swiss cheese-i had 36 brocken roof tiles-but 37 spare ones under the house!-so the roof is finally ok-looks like a patchwork quilt though!
trying to get through to insurance is a nightmare.
anyway-back to the war-tabpub hits taipei today with a p38 sweep- i lose 15 fighters to his 5 today
usual bombing in png, and i tried to defend wake today-15 nicks against the liberators-i lost more nicks than bombers shot down[:(]
