RE: Prosecuting Sub Contacts
Just leave a small percentage of the air unit on training and possibly another part on rest if the fatigue goes up, both pilots and aircraft. If you fly ASW at 1,000 feet, you have a better chance of surprising the sub and bombing it but a lessor chance of detecting it. The Vals should stay at their normal altitude because they will dive bomb.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

RE: Prosecuting Sub Contacts
thanks joe. i'll try that. i think you told me to do the same on my jake search planes (60/20/20) and it seems to be working out well.
RE: Prosecuting Sub Contacts
It’s an assumption of mine, but most of the reported “hits” I am seeing on allied subs in my game must be near misses at best.
I think the IINAF search and ASW pilots are the biggest exaggerators in the world.
Roughly half the claimed subs sunk seem to show up later, perhaps damaged, but still very much afloat.

thanks also for the discussion of training in your AAR. I used some of that information and transferred 82 Army pilots to TRACOM. Like you, i'm going to keep my 80+ pilots in the KB for now.

RE: 11-8-42
Do not attack PT Boats in duck/goose weather and not on no moon nights. If nothing else, use strafing fighters or float planes.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.
