Husband unit: OK. I had to finger a few suspects before I made a bust.

Or: The robber was a woman. I felt a right tit.

Or: In a brilliant feat of forensic science, the suspect was identified by the headlights on her Winnebago.

So we are having this Family Feud competition at work with medical questions. Yeah, sure, it's seriously geeky, but it's fun and everyone tries to show off.

So anyway, we have two teams and each side has to send up one guy/gal to answer the speed question. The other side sends up the rheumatologist recently graduated from har fellowship which means she had to study for the Internal Medicine and Rheumatology boards. Even worse, she's Asian, so most likely her competitor will get his/her ass kicked.

So on our side nobody wants to go up. At least one of the internists should go. They're all pussies, it gets really pitiful, so I finally volunteer to go up. Maybe the question will be on rotavirus serotypes or something?

We are standing up there ready to ring in ......."What do these drugs have in common? Procainamide..."

Me: So I start thinking..."antiarrhythmic...never used it my career"

Moderator: "Hydralazine...."

Me: "Hmm....an older anti-hypertensive..never used it my life...maybe cardiac drugs? I need at least one more"

Moderator: "Minocycline..."

Me: "Antibiotic? What the He.."

DING!

Asian chick: "DRUG INDUCED LUPUS!"

Moderator: THAT'S CORRECT! <WILD APPRAUSE AND MURMURINGS OF RESPECT>

Me: "WTF. A f****** rhematology question?" <Goes back to seat. Tries to rook invisible>

It seems like somebody was getting paid by the fuselage length. Or maybe the union help got paid by the number of rivets.

You could set them at 15,000 feet and they will level bomb. At least they won't be susceptible to ground fire. Of course, there had better not be any enemy fighters.

Failing that, you could always use the mighty Wapiti.

By ra way, concerning your "Operation Skinflint". Why didn't you take the ops name one step further and name it "Pocahontas" instead?

I mean, the ops also seems to go with bare essentials. [:'(]

Grollub,

That's "Skinflint", not "Skinflute".

Pocahantas Girl is throwing a Twelve Days of Christmas party next Friday. Twelve course, each one themed to one of the Twelve Days of Christmas verses[:D] Not sure exactly how anyone other than competitive eaters are going to do that unless she installs a vomitorium. [:)]

I suppose some of the courses might be alcohol in which case there might be wardrobe malfunctions but I'm pretty sure the guests are at least supposed to arrive in appropriate attire.

You did one of these last year too, IIRC. I'm still sore at you for completely ignoring our incessant mewlings about Pocahantas Girl's Halloween costume. We haven't heard "boo" about it, and certainly haven't seen any pictures...[:(]

No, that was & Deadly Sins, and 7 "couples".

This is a bit more ambitious. 12 courses and 12 "couples" (not everyone is paired up)

As for the pics..I actually looked on SG's computer. No go. PG might have some but I think it would creep her out so I refuse to ask. [:'(]

Can't wait to hear what they come up with for some of the twelve dishes. e.g. What would you do for eleven [or whatever the number is] "maids a-milking"? Does it involve a wet nurse?
The "Lords a-leaping" and "Ladies dancing" can probably be achieved with some readily available recreational chemicals ...

****************Tilamook, Oregon, Feb. 28, 1943(c)***************

A gathering town dignitaries for the opening of the US Navy Airship Base, Tilamook. There are 3 airships, one is tethered to a telephone pole and the other two scutter about at ground level, partly inflated.

Robert "Bob" Citron, Tilamook CD coordinator: Congresswoman, shouldn't there be some pilots or ground crews or something? I mean, who's gonna look for the Jap subs?

Congresswoman Nan Wood Honeyman, Oregon 3rd: <slightly annoyed> Bob, there aren't any Japs around here. Don't worry about it.

Robert "Bob" Citron, Tilamook CD coordinator: Then why do we have the base here?

Congresswoman Nan Wood Honeyman, Oregon 3rd: It's about dollars for the community, Bob. That's what the 3rd District wants.

Robert "Bob" Citron, Tilamook CD coordinator: But what about war profiteering? What about Truman?

Congresswoman Nan Wood Honeyman, Oregon 3rd: <leans over toward Bob> F*** Truman, Bob. Get with the plan. Shouldn't you be scanning the horizon or something?

This really did happen..sort of. I see one of the airbase thingys over Tilamook and I find 2 deflated airships and no support.

54 LYB bombers at Beazelbob with no fighters. Evidently, JJ has worked out we cant hit it with my B-17's or B-24's. We might be abe to scrape together some LB-30's from somewhere but would prefer to wait till we have a level 4 field in range for the heavies (maybe Ternate or Boela soon)

Dadjangas: JJ sent in a lone DD to cause trouble at Dajangas. They ran into the APD group and put a 5 inch hole in USS Cushing. Not sure yet if they drove off the LCT's or inhibited the unloading of the fast transport group. Our recon did not show the DD coming. Seems like somebody might have hit Asakaze. Crever baaaahstards.

Burma: JJ attacked the two Chindit brigades at Myitkynia yesterday but only achieved 1:2. No attack in the air on on the ground today. Admiral Lord Sprior reports he has brought up the fearsome Vultee Vengeance.

The Vengeance is ours sayeth the Admiral.

China: Looks like JJ has turned around and is no longer marching on Chungking. Instead they have turned NE to deal with the ankle-biters that are harrying their supply route further back.
